New York Democrat Gregory Meeks: Conyers should step down from Judiciary Committee If there's one thing that's funny about disgraced Democrat Representative John Conyers, it's that he was filmed on an airplane unabashedly reading an issue of Playboy.

If there are two things that are funny about John Conyers, it's that he was filmed on an airplane reading Playboy AND that his wife, Monica Conyers, made herself exhibit A in the hall of embarrassingly corrupt officials - while he was still focused on carping about the alleged ethics transgressions of the Bush administration. If there are three things that are funny about John Conyers, It's the Playboy video, his jailbird wife, and the time he incoherently tried to toss Stephen Colbert out of a Judiciary Comittee hearing...
Still awake? OK, here we go.... If there are a whopping four things that are funny about John Conyers, it's the Playboy video, his jailbird wife, the Colbert thing, and the fact that more and more voices within his own party are calling on him to resign. Dan already told you about the leftists at the Detroit Free Press editorial board. Now the calls are coming from Conyers's congressional colleagues. Here we have New York's far left Democrat Representative, Gregory Meeks, telling Conyers to step down from the House Judiciary Committee. What should this tell you? It should tell you that that the Democrat Party has decided John Conyers is no longer worth the effort. Conyers is now - in a political sense - a bit like Fredo Corleone. Sure, he's family, but the family is sick of dealing with his mistakes and attention-grabbing incompetence. Don't get in the boat, John.
