One way or another, we will have socialized medicine in this country. Politicians have raised and nurtured generations of people that expect something for nothing in exchange for votes. We have imported, legally and illegally, millions of uneducated, unskilled workers that can't afford a band-aid. We have millions of students 'graduating' high school that can't read, thus, unable to get a good job with health insurance. We have a health care system where the middle class is strapped with not only their health care bills, but the bills of the people who did not pay. We have a health care system that cannot or will not control its costs of care while the number of people able to afford it dwindles. We have a system where an MRI costs $6,000 in one hospital, $4500 in another hospital and $250 in another hospital if you can pay cash.

No insurance can work for everyone. Covering pre-existing conditions is not insurance.

The rich will always have the resources to pay cash for their care. The poor will never pay. It is the middle class, as usual, that suffers. No insurance can work for everyone. Covering pre-existing conditions is not insurance. Insurance is legalized gambling (hence why it was illegal in early America). For a premium (fee) the insurance company will bet you that you will not need the care more than the premium costs. A pre-existing condition requirement is forcing the insurance company to bet on a sick or crippled horse (no disrespect). It will not work. Patients with pre-existing conditions should not be in the insurance market. They need to be in a separate program. Congratulations to the Republicans who wanted cheap labor. Congratulations to the Democrats who wanted more democrats...insisting it is all about doing the right thing when in reality much of it was about pandering to another election day. Congratulations to the Democrats again for achieving the probability of a complete government takeover of health care...what they wanted from the start. Congratulations to the health care industry that is oblivious to costs. Congratulations to the Canadians who won't have to come to the United States to get timely health care because our system will be as bad as theirs.
