“Trudeau was largely praised for his socks on social media, but some on the right criticized him and noted that in many Muslim-majority countries LGBT people can face persecution.”Note how according to the National Post, it was only “some on the right” who criticized Trudeau and noted that “in many Muslim-majority countries LGBT people can face persecution”. Is it really only “some on the right” who recognize the hypocrisy of wearing socks emblazoned with the ‘Eid Mubarak!’ insignia during the celebration of Gay Pride? What kind of Gay Pride can be found in a group that continues to hurl gays to their deaths? It’s not that LGBT people can face persecution, they do face persecution by Islam, all for being gay. Rather than cheers for a publicity stunt seeking, nine points down in popularity polls Trudeau, a chill should have run down the backs of each and every LGBT person who marched or was in attendance at yesterday’s parade. That this year’s Gay Pride parade happened to coincide with the religious holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, is no reason to pay sartorial tribute to a terrorist group known to throw gays to their deaths from tall buildings.
“Ramadan wasn’t recognized in the White House with an iftar or Eid celebration for the first time in nearly two decades, The Washington Post reports. “President Thomas Jefferson started the tradition in 1805 when a Tunisian envoy to the United States, Sidi Soliman Mellimelli, was in the U.S. during America’s conflict with the Barbary States. Mellimelli was observing Ramadan and Jefferson invited guests to join him for a dinner served at sunset. Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama had also recognized Ramadan.”Trudeau should stash his Ramadan socks to the bottom of his ridiculous sock drawer and stand against a brutal Islam that continues to hurl gays to their deaths from tall buildings. In short the 45-year-old Canadian Prime Minister should grow up, ditch the Selfies and get real.
