Yo, progressive left supporters of San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz: Your mayor’s phoney props are showing. There’s a distinct fishy smell about the gone-viral picture of her wading waist-high in the flood waters. While the good people of Puerto Rico suffer in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Her Worship has been spending the lion’s share of her time spinning a political narrative and hurling gas on the raging anti-Trump fire. This is how the latest ‘Star of The Resistance’ came to be: “If a picture is worth a thousand words then the image of Cruz wading waist deep through floodwaters speaks to her leadership skills even as the U.S. territory and its capital city deal with a mounting humanitarian crisis caused by a devastating hurricane and a slowed response.” (PATCH, Oct. 1, 2017) The alleged “slow response” not only started with Cruz but would have remained with her had it not been for celebrity sharks moving in for the kill. Everything originating with the melodramatic San Juan Mayor has been staged. Let’s take a look at the picture of opportunistic Cruz, the Mermaid Mayor wading waist-deep out into the supposedly raging floodwaters: How can you go wading through raging flood waters without splashing any on yourself? Yet from the waist up, Madam Mermaid appears to be bone dry? Why was Her Worship wearing a wristwatch?
Even if her alibi was that the watch was waterproof, why would she have worn it when she went water wading rather than leaving it behind at the shelter where she has currently pitched up? Why were there no pictures of Mayor Mermaid using the blow horn rather than just toting it? Why were the flood waters conveniently calm enough for her to lean over to shake the hand of the man in the kayak? Aren’t flood waters usually too turbulent for self-serving photo ops? Nor was the wading waist high into water carrying a bullhorn Mayor Mermaid’s only prop. How about her T-shirt switcheroo?
“However, in her most recent interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, viewers noticed something odd about the T-shirt Cruz was wearing. (Allen B West, Oct. 1 2017)

“From Bizpac Review: “The mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is all the rage in political circles because of her driving criticism of President Donald Trump, and does she ever play up to the billing, appearing on CNN with a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “help us, we are dying.” “…all the while, CNN host Anderson Cooper tries to act natural. “Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz wore the T-shirt while being interviewed live Friday night — the anti-Trump media only needs ONE person to trash the president and they flock to the political stooge like moths to a light. “Geraldo Rivera of Fox News was one of the first to chime in:
#SanJuanMayor says residents are "dying," & somehow @realDonaldTrump is to blame. I'm here. Who is dying? Why? Where? Let me help save them. — Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) September 30, 2017
“But by the time Rivera had a chance to interview Cruz, she’d ditched the shirt:
“Interestingly, when Rivera did catch up with Cruz, she lost the politically charged T-shirt in favor of a plain white polo, which makes one wonder if Fox News viewers are not worthy. “Rivera wasn’t the only viewer to notice the shirt, which took Twitter by storm after the interview:
“With Cruz prioritizing printing political T-shirts over storm relief, is it any wonder Trump took notice? In fact, Trump’s not the only one to notice the lack of action from Cruz. Asked about the situation, a neighboring mayor blasted Cruz while praising Trump’s response:
“Guaynabo’s Mayor Angel Perez said he has no idea what the hell Cruz is talking about since his city has been receiving aid. The reason why they are getting help is because Perez has kept on top of relief efforts by attending meetings with officials from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and other federal agencies. “I don’t know why she is saying that,” Perez told the Daily Caller. “She is not participating in any meetings. We had a couple already with the governors and with representation of FEMA and of HUD, these whole federal agencies that have given us help. We are receiving assistance from FEMA. I got people over here helping us with applications for the people that have damage in their houses.”
“Meanwhile, real people are suffering in Puerto Rico. Sadly, liberals are more interested in turning their suffering into a political narrative, rather than actually doing what’s required to help themselves.
