I took a deep breath and sure enough, freedom was in the air. I could almost touch it. The sovereignty of the moment, overwhelmed me with a bitter-sweet indulgence to the realization that, I would probably never see my Cuban homeland ever again, and I never did, yet, the sadness that came along with this reflection would no sooner vanish as an unwavering optimism swiftly and radically recaptured my innermost feelings of hope amidst the archetypal fears, characteristically posed by everything associated with the unknown. But, then again, here I was, with a shot at the unrelenting American dream, sought after by millions throughout the world.
As expected the hasty transition from communism to the furthermost democratic system in the planet was filled with an indomitable urge to observe the 'flawlessness' of this great country, where just about everything about it, seemed to flow with majestic sanctity; with paramount preservation for the orderly. Back then, in the '60s, however, times were much different compared to today. Headline news were abundantly filled with a wide array of current events constricted to an assortment of newsworthy headlines; with bounteous issues regarding anything and everything that was going on at the time. Issues which included but were not limited to controversies, political or otherwise, albeit most of them, hemmed within a framework of reasonable paucity.
Notwithstanding the relative political congruity prevalent in the '60s, in the decades that followed, America and the world, would be taken aback by some major political scandals, such as were former president Nixon's Watergate scandal leading to his resignation on August 9, 1974, and former president Bill Clinton's Monica Lewinsky political sex scandal in 1998, which led to his impeachment in 1998 by the U.S. House of Representatives, if yet subsequently acquitted in a 21-day Senate trial. Scandals such as these were,in fact, few and far between then, thus astonishing sizable audiences throughout the world. It would also be fair and fit to characterize that the reporting of such high-minded issues back in the day, would only be done with fairness and a balanced quality to it; a quality embedded in journalism's most basic creeds of professional excellence - one conscientiously attached to the central role played by members of this prominent profession while capable of swaying the nation's public opinion - an ad nauseum responsibility, deserving of the highest levels of integrity and uprightness by the ranking members of this universe of professionals.
Now comes 2008, that eventful year when the esteemed president of the United States made his iniquitous commitment of fundamentally transforming the United States of America, made on the eve of his election Tuesday, November 4th, 2008. Obamas' commitment was, in fact, a near-mystical proclamation of the radical changes which were about to take place in the nation. In the aftermath of his [Obama] pledge, America was subjected to yet one of the most shameful chapters ever in the history of this country; an administration beleaguered by an unending streak of scandals; an administration besieged by corruption, cover-ups and dishonesty, all an integral part, you may say, of the satanic transformation proposed by one of Saul Alinsky's favorite sons. What followed, I may add, would simply make the Watergate and Lewinsky's scandals pale in comparison - it was that bad.
For those of you who may have accidentally lost track of the scandals plaguing us since the beginning of this administration, below I offer you a brief timeline of some of the most preposterous events endured by Americans during Obama's regime of deceit. I should caution everyone, though, that the issues made reference to, are meant to simply outline some of the most boisterous scandals while it would probably take volumes to script the unending list of travesties suffered by the American people under the Barack Obama presidency.
Fast and Furious - 2006-2011
A government-sponsored illegal gun-running scheme designed to purposely go awry so as to induce public outcry for gun control. Attorney General Eric Holder is held in Contempt of Congress after refusing to release all documents which the House of Representatives demanded concerning the Fast and Furious gun walking operation.
General Services Administration- 2010.
Martha N. Johnson, head of the office, fired two top GSA officials and then resigned herself after it was revealed that $822,000 had been spent in Las Vegas on a four-day training conference for 300 GSA employees.
Obama White House Linked to Cartagena, Colombia, Prostitution scandal - 2012
The U.S. Secret Service was in the midst of what one reporter calls the "
biggest scandal" in its history. A scandal of alleged misconduct and solicitation of prostitutes. A confirmed 11 Secret Service agents who were sent to Colombia to protect President Obama were sent back to the United States and placed on administrative leave. At the time, Obama administration officials repeatedly denied that anyone from the White House was involved -the administration's preferred response to most all scandals.
Bengahzi Scandal - 2012
On the evening of September 11, 2012, Islamic militants attacked the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, killing U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith and two CIA contractors, Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty. Ten others were also injured in the attacks. While the administration committed to a full investigation aimed at determining if more could have been done to save the lives of those killed, answers to this and many other issues of criminal complicity on the part of our government remain, to this day, unanswered. To many in the nation, former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton's role at the time, suggests a negligent response to defending the victims, thus see her as an accomplice in the death of those who gave their lives for our country while in the line of duty.
IRS Targets Conservative Groups associated with the Tea Party - 2013
IRS acknowledges that agents of this government's office had improperly targeted Tea Party and other conservative groups for additional scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status. Some have tried to claim this was the work of wayward employees in an Ohio office, but the debate continues over how high up the policy went. Lois G. Lerner was the director of the Exempt Organizations Unit of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and is a notable figure in the
controversy. Lerner was allegedly accused of tampering with evidence which would have incriminated her in the scandal, all the while as she [Lerner] continued to plea her fifth amendment rights. Congress continues to investigate this scandal, with seemingly has no end in sight.
HealthCare 2013
The launch of '
HealthCare.gov', the government's web-site for the Obamacare project turned what would have been a rough year for President Obama into a very bad year. The launch itself was plagued by technical problems -- on top of that, Obama was called to account for his campaign promise that those who like their plans could keep them, despite millions of cancellation notices going out. The problems and complications prompted the administration to announce a string of selective delays and exemptions for the law's implementation. (AP)
Veterans Health Administration Scandal - 2014
On April 30
th, 2014, CNN news reported that at least 40 United States Armed Forces veterans died while waiting for care at the Phoenix, Arizona, Veterans Health Administration facilities. By June 5, 2014, Veterans Affairs internal investigations had identified a total of 35 veterans who had died while waiting for care in the Phoenix VHA system. An investigation of delays in treatment throughout the Veterans Health Administration system was conducted by the Veterans Affairs Office of the Inspector General, and the House has passed legislation to fund a $1 million criminal investigation by the Justice Department. On May 16, 2014, the Veterans Health Administration's top health official, Dr. Robert Petzel, retired early at the request of Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki. On May 30, 2014, Secretary Shinseki resigned from office amid the fallout from the controversy. As of early June 2014, several other VA medical centers around the nation have been identified with the same problems as the Phoenix facility, and the investigations by the VA Inspector General, the Congress and others continue widening.
Cartagena, Colombia Prostitution Ring - 2014
The 2012 scandal involving Secret Service agents in a prostitution ring while protecting the president in a Colombian presidential summit, resurges again in 2014. Senior White House aides were given information at the time, yet the information was never thoroughly investigated or publicly acknowledged. The Secret Service is said to have shared its findings with Kathryn Ruemmler, then the White House counselor.
As the Homeland Security's inspector conducted its probe on the scandal, he told Senate staffers that: "he felt pressure from his superiors in the office of Charles K. Edwards, who was then the acting inspector general, to withhold evidence--and that, in the heat of an election year, decisions were being made with political considerations in mind."
"'We were directed at the time...to delay the report of the investigation until after the 2012 election,' David Nieland, the lead investigator on the Colombia case for the DHS inspector general's office, told Senate staffers, according to three people with knowledge of his statement."
The American Immigration Crisis - 2014
Refers to the surge in unaccompanied children from
Central America seeking entrance to the United States. The surge has increased rapidly, doubling in volume each year, reaching crisis proportions in 2014 when tens of thousands of women and children from
El Salvador,
Guatemala, and
Hondurasmigrated to the
United States. Many of the children had no parent/legal guardian available to provide care or physical custody and quickly overwhelmed local border patrols.
All in all it just so seems that, under Obama's reign of supercilious autocracy every sound bite, every news headline, every broadcast, and just about everywhere we turn where political news is being made, yet a new scandal is brewing in the air; each, mind you, ostensibly with more disreputable nuances, more dishonest tinges, and more cynical overtones than the one preceding as though vigilantly crafted to distract the nation's attention from the one before. Obama's culture of corruption has reached levels of dishonesty never before seen in this noble land.
In spite of all this corruption, nevertheless, Obama's coterie of corrupted enablers has managed to cynically continue shielding this impostor against his long overdue impeachment. And, as if the scandals alone were not enough, to make matters worse, our once prudent media prevalently known for reporting the issues with truth and candor, suddenly and implacably, under Obama's administration, was given to the task of making the news themselves rather than reporting it as the latter's liberal cronyism grew to unsuspected and irrational levels of complicity while becoming an integral part of the corrupted culture - notably a part of the scandals themselves.
My fellow Americans, my dear friends, all along, since he first took the office of the president, Barack Obama and his administration have left behind quite an all-embracing trail of impeachable offenses, none of which have ever been brought to justice - the greatest travesty, ever in the political history of this nation. Have we not had enough of the scandals? Of the deceit? Of the transformation? Have we not had enough of this impostor? Have we not had enough? Have we not had enough of the corruption now abounding in our nation? As if we have, the time has come to remove this man from the post he has pusillanimously used to betray us all in just about every conceivable way possible. In the six years undeservedly leading our great nation as president, Barack Obama, has managed to send America into a massive havoc and unending despair; into a downward spiral of decadency both here and abroad. America today stands as all but a browbeaten version of the once mighty nation we once were in our not-too-distant past. For God's sake as well as for the sake of our nation, let us all unite to complete the mission at hand. Barack Obama's impeachment is not just an option, it is an impending obligation on all of us; the only one, I may add, still capable of saving this great land of ours --a land now treacherously threatened by radicals, enemies set firmly on destroying us. Radical enemies which we now can unearth both outside as well as within our borders. The time has come, my fellow citizens, to rid our government of this outbreak of un-Americanism which continues to erode into sacred values willed to us by the Founding Fathers of the country. The time has come, Americans. The time is now. May God save us and may God save America - the last bastion of hope for all free people of the world !
