NumberUSA: Ted Cruz edges out Donald Trump, who earns a very good A-, but Cruz gets the highest score

Election 2016: Who Has the Best Immigration Numbers?

Following my continued efforts with We the People Rising in California, I have learned to respect the opinions of a website called “NumbersUSA.” This forum informs prospective voters, activists, and concerned citizens in general about the stances of elected officials—and candidates—on immigration. If you want to know how your Congressman ranks on stopping illegal immigration, visit this site!
In order to earn a high score, candidates have to stress, speak, and vote for policies which limit immigration and protect the needs and interests of American citizens foremost. Throughout the Election 2016 campaign season, one candidate has gathered the most controversy and support on this issue: Donald Trump. He mentioned that Mexican migration contains by and large very negative elements. He has stressed the necessity to build a wall and provide a proper path for legal migration. He has gathered incredible support from pro-law enforcement leaders (Sheriff Arpaio) and activists (Maria Espinosa, the Remembrance Projects). And yet … the latest reports from NumbersUSA were surprising and affirming for me. The presidential candidate with the best immigration numbers is ... US Senator Ted Cruz. He edges out Donald Trump, who earns a very good A-, but Cruz gets the highest score. Why?

He has a better record to prevent illegal border entries and surges, to ensure that existing laws are enforced. He also has a much stronger record on preventing work permits for illegal aliens. As for Donald Trump, perhaps his prior record of hiring illegals to clean up one of his properties in New York City, followed by his corporate hiring of illegals to the present day, has marred an otherwise commendable platform of values. Donald’s double-take during one debate against, then for, then repivoting against in one day probably hurt his scores, too. Cruz has the better numbers, and both Cruz and Trump far exceed amnesty-pandering John Kasich (D), Hillary Clinton (D-), and Bernie Sanders (F-). What about John Kasich? Why does he score so abysmally on the NumbersUSA report card? He supports work permits for illegals, or at least he refuses to prevent them. He has no plan for ending the VISA overstay abuses. He shows less of an embrace for implementing E-Verify. Sources suggest that he would grant immediate amnesty for all illegals within one hundred days of his Presidency! As for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, their agenda focuses on fairness for illegal aliens while diminishing the needs of Americans first. How inherent unfair, immoral—and illegal! When will our elected officials stop begging for the respect of illegal aliens, and start respecting citizens, our country, and our Constitution?! Ted Cruz does, and has the best record to prove it! The mainstream media won’t report on these diverse rankings. Do they want Trump to be the GOP nominee? The conservative news is not talking up the subtle shift between Cruz and Trump, either. What about the radio stations who have held onto their ideological integrity? When will they announce to the enraged American public that Donald Trump is not the best choice for stopping illegal immigration? No one seems to recall (or care anymore) that Cruz voted against amnesty in 2013, and explained to his colleagues during the floor vote that the American people should not have to barter or beg for border security. Build the wall, triple the border patrol, enforce the law. Without these strictures, lawmakers and executives should plan nothing else. No amnesty, no pathways to citizenship, nothing about illegals. Our government must focus, honor, and extend due diligence to US citizens.

Ted Cruz, the candidate with the best immigration record of all the presidential candidates, deserves more attention. From all the tongue-wagging and finger-pointing of the press, the bloggers, and the hard-hitting activists, one would think that Cruz had caved to the donor class which so offends the Republican base. These numbers put an end to that lie. What happened to all that Establishment, amnesty, “He’s a Canadian, and therefore ineligible” talk? Besides the ruling of several state courts throughout the country, Cruz the citizen is fighting for our rights, our Constitution, and the American way of life. Who would have believed that a slight difference on one website would reveal a wider, growing disparity between Trump and Cruz? But the difference is there. Donald Trump has talked a good game, but Cruz is crushing it in terms of action and effort. Indeed, immigration has returned as a forefront issue in Election 2016 because of his relentless prodding on this issue. And Cruz has been ahead on this matter long before other candidates stepped up to discuss it. And once again, how surprising indeed that Ted Cruz, whom some consider an "Establishment" candidate has a better record on immigration enforcement and pro-American immigration policy than the current frontrunner ...
