She promised not to forget about the workers whose livelihoods would be destroyed by her efforts and, since she's so trustworthy, you can be sure she'll do the right thing.

Because Hillary is a horrible person that doesn't care who she hurts, it's a safe bet everything she said - aside from her intent to decimate coal companies - is pure hogwash. Like Obama, she wants to destroy the fossil fuel industry and, like Obama, agenda is all that matters. The "little people" are nothing more than an obstacle.
So it must have been really annoying for her to have some tedious, tearful, unemployed coal worker show up with a photo of his children and say "These are the kind of people you're affecting. This is my family."
"I just want to know," He continued, "how you can say you're going to put a lot of coal miners out of jobs, and then come in here and tell us how you're going to be our friend. Because those people out there don't see you as a friend."
Hillary then backpedals fast enough to win the Tour de France in reverse...

More importantly, whenever a politician like Hillary acknowledges your "right to feel upset or angry," that's their way of saying "I get that you're furious but that's a you problem."
You can tell that's the case here, because Hillary isn't actually apologizing for a plan that will ruin coal workers' lives. She's sorry she gave them the "reason or excuse" to feel that she's out to get them. In other words, she's sorry that her statement clearly and directly stated her goal, because it's since been used against her.
Rest assured, her plan hasn't changed - she's just aware that this is an atrocious campaign moment.
