Doomed campaign ends

Kasich suspends campaign - is free to eat pizza any way he likes

There was a time when you could, almost, make a case for John Kasich's presence in the 2016 race. That time was over a long, long, while ago. Other than his win in Ohio, he'd been a non-presence for months. Either he was hoping for a miracle, looking for a VP spot, or - as CNN argues - simply acting as a spoiler against Donald Trump. Whatever he was doing, it didn't work:
John Kasich is dropping out of the Republican presidential race, two sources familiar with the plan confirmed to CNN. Kasich's decision came after he improbably became the last challenger to Donald Trump, who emerged as the presumptive GOP nominee Tuesday night when Ted Cruz dropped out. Even before winning his home state of Ohio in March, Kasich was facing pressure to get out of the race, with no clear path to victory. His campaign never became more than a spoiler run, designed to keep Trump from getting the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination before a contested convention.
We're sure this will come as sad news for all nine people that had hoped to see a President do away with the disgusting practice of eating pizza with your hands.
