Oh-so-tolerant left cheers invective; committee chairman smacks her down.

Democrat congresswoman loses it, tells trans-skeptic, 'You're an ignorant bigot!'

The terribly delicate sensibilities of California Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren apparently can't handle the horrifying prospect of someone challenging whatever the left considers "settled science" today. You know how this goes. The left gets an idea in its head. It's settled. There is neither time nor any point to having a discussion because a) we must act now; and b) they're not listening to you anyway. So when University of San Diego School of Law professor Gail Heriot questioned the Obama Administration's wisdom-of-the-moment that all "transgender people" must simply be indulged, it was simply too much for Ms. Lofgren to take: (video below)
Kudos to Congressman King, the committee chair, for putting a stop to her name-calling. But that didn't discourage left-wing activists on social media and elsewhere from holding her up as a hero. This is probably much where we are on this stuff now: Someone disagrees with the social justice warriors, the only course of action is just to go straight to the insults - because "hate must be called out" or whatever. The sad thing is they fail to recognize just how reasoned and compassionate Professor Heriot's testimony is. It riffs off the work of Paul McHugh, former psychiatrist in chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, who explains that "transgenderism" is actually a mental disorder that needs treatment and help, not gratuitous indulgence. If Professor Heriot is "ignorant," then so is Dr. McHugh. Methinks the ignorant one here is the one who's doing the screaming and the name-calling.
