Disability snuff film, ‘Me Before You’

Stopping Justin Trudeau’s Culture of Death

God help the most vulnerable in a society where the lib-left and Hollywood flagrantly extol the ‘Better Dead Than Disabled’ meme with a real life Parliament echoing the message of the soon to be released “disability snuff film”, ‘Me Before You’. “Me Before You” is the latest Hollywood blockbuster to grossly misrepresent the lived experience of the majority of disabled people. In the film, a young man becomes disabled, falls in love with his ‘carer’ and they have an incredible 6 months together. Despite her opposition, however, our hero does the “honorable” thing by killing himself at the Swiss assisted suicide clinic Dignitas – so she can move on and he is no longer a burden to her. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, “Me Before You” is little more than a disability snuff film, giving audiences the message that if you’re a disabled person, you’re better off dead. (Alex Schadenberg)
Cashing in on the ‘Better off Dead’ craze is Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau-led Liberal Government. Coming to a theatre near you in a plethora of worldwide cities on June 3 is ‘Rah Rah Euthanasia!’, Hollywood style. Coming to Canadian Parliament for a Liberal all but guaranteed YES vote expected May 31, 2016, physician-assisted suicide legislation known as Bill C-14. Alex Schadenberg, Executive Director and International Chair of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, who will lead a protest on Parliament Hill tomorrow, is spot on when he says that Bill C-14 “provides a perfect cover for murder”. “Bill C-14 is a dangerous bill that does not protect vulnerable Canadians. Bill C-14 provides a perfect cover for murder. (Alex Schadenberg, Euthanasia Prevention Coalition) Imagine Bill C-14 coming down on the watch of the guy who is proving that his good looks matter the most to him; a prime minister whose popularity soars to dizzying heights on social media courtesy of worldwide female groupies who see him as cute and sexy; the prime minister who will make lepers of the not so handsome or groupie-sustained disabled.

Canada’s Liberal government is conveniently hiding behind that imposition

The Supreme Court of Canada imposed a June 6 deadline upon parliament to pass a bill to regulate euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada, and Canada’s Liberal government is conveniently hiding behind that imposition. But it was Justin Trudeau who stormed the floor of Parliament recently, turning the air blue with foul language, including the F-bomb and elbowing out of the way two members of the Opposition. Related: Obama-elected ‘Pretty Boy’ Goes ‘Bully Boy’ Somehow it went right over mainstream media member heads that Trudeau wasn’t just throwing a random temper tantrum but wanted to close the deal on Bill C-14--as quickly and painfully as possible. “We are seeing this in Canada at the moment with the excise of euthanasia and assisted suicide for minors and for mental health issues from the debate and the promise of revisiting that agenda in three years’ time. Even in Belgium, which enacted the most liberal of euthanasia laws in 2002, we saw the amendment to include children pass in the parliament in 2013. In Holland there is continued agitation for euthanasia under the term ‘tired of life’ or ‘completed life’, ostensibly for people over the age of 70. The Dutch parliament is also looking into child euthanasia whilst already having euthanasia available for ‘emancipated minors’ from the age of 12. (Netherlands: New push for suicide pill)
“Today the Dutch news is reporting that two euthanasia organisations are renewing their push for the so-called ‘Drion Pill’ to be available ‘for people who do not qualify for euthanasia.’ “Note: The 'Drion's pill' is a suicide pill proposed originally by Huib Drion, a former Dutch Supreme Court judge and professor of civil law, who argued that people aged 75 or over should be able to end their own lives. “The Dutch Times says that ‘The NVVE wants to launch a test with a suicide pill for people age 75 years and older next year. The Cooperatie Laatste Wil wants the experiment to include all legal adults, people 18 years and older.”
Rather than close your eyes and ears to the nightmare descending on civil society, through laws like the one Trudeau is shepherding, this is what you can do: You can show your resistance to the promotion of death for the disabled one hour before a showing of the film ‘Me Before You’ at your local movie theatre in many cities in the USA and worldwide. You can peacefully distribute a leaflet (to be posted on NDY website) to oppose the film’s message that disabled people are better off dead (and others are better off without us.)

WAYS YOU CAN PROTEST:

  • Two or more people can peacefully hand out a leaflet that will be posted on the Not Dead Yet website at notdeadyet.org.
  • Send a press release or use NDY’s release (coming soon) to send to your local media.
  • Join the worldwide social media Thunderclap.
  • Twitter using #MeBeforeYou #LiveBoldly #MeBeforeEuthanasia #MeBeforeAbleism
  • “Though the new law will eventually require confirmation by elected legislators, it can hardly be said that its path reflects democracy in its purest sense. The MPs will only get their chance once the contents have satisfied the demands of unelected judges, as amended by unelected senators. It’s striking that this same government is immersed in an effort to alter Canada’s electoral system into what it considers a more democratic form, on the theory that the government should reflect the views of a broader range of voters. Should it succeed, one hopes future legislators are made aware of the constraints in place, and disabused of any notion that it’s their job to run the country. If Bill C-14 becomes law, it won’t be traceable to the initiative of any elected Canadian government. (National Post, May 30 2016) Don’t let the Liberals get away with it. Meanwhile, not all of Justin Trudeau’s groupies are resident in far away places. Many of them are holding down jobs within the Canadian mainstream media. The mainstream media will likely ignore tomorrow’s demonstration by the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, the Living with Dignity Network and Physicians Alliance Against Euthanasia on Parliament Hill between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. Mind you, the majority of left-leaning latte-drinking Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) journalists are not wheelchair-bound or disabled in any way. Keep in mind that when Justin Trudeau looks into his mirror he is enrapt by his own good looks, but it’s time to show the Pretty Boy PM that when we peer into that mirror, we see nothing but his ugly Culture of Death. Man the barricades, the vulnerable disabled are counting on YOU.
