Gun wielding actor goes to Australia, laments that U.S. isn't 'evolved' enough to forcibly confiscate all guns

If, like me, you're a fan of the Jason Bourne movie series, you know the titular character is a borderline super-powered killing machine. In possession of heightened reflexes, top-level CIA training, and a preternatural ability to turn anything into a weapon, he roams the Earth killing pretty much anything dumb enough to try to bring him to heel. Along the way, he survives shootings, falls, car crashes, and beatings that would kill any other human being a dozen times over. Oh yeah. I almost forgot. He also uses guns - a lot. Here he is killing his first victim. He doesn't even know his name, but he does it anyway, because "training." Since his biggest movies - easily the most successful of his career - feature so many guns, you might think actor Matt Damon shares Bourne's appreciation of a good firearm. You'd be wrong. In fact, he'd like to forcibly disarm every American and bulldoze their firearms into a landfill. He definitely wouldn't want you driving around with one:

We know this, because during recent interview in Australia, he bemoaned the fact that the citizens United States aren't "evolved" enough to embrace Australia's hardline gun control stance. “You guys did it here in one fell swoop, and I wish that could happen in my country, but it’s such a personal issue for people that we cannot talk about it sensibly,” Damon said. Then he started musing about what it would take to strip you of your civil rights. “Obviously, mass shootings aren’t going to do it. There have been so many of them at this point. Sandy Hook — when those children were murdered — if that didn’t do it, you know, I just don’t know. Maybe we just need to evolve further before we can have that conversation. I don’t know.” Here's the clip: So give up your rights, everyone. A multi-millionaire, who makes a lot of money from gunplay, and who I'd be willing to be lives behind a large gate, and who regularly surrounds himself with heavily-armed private security, has decided you need to evolve.
