Hillary Clinton shatters the glass ceiling as she prepares to slash and burn America

Disorderly Coronation

Front Page Mag PHILADELPHIA -- Democrats made their second affirmative-action pick in a row yesterday as they formally anointed Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton as their party's nominee for the highest office in the land. The news comes as Republican standard-bearer Donald Trump continues to rise in the polls and after President Obama publicly acknowledged that Trump "could win" in November. Outside the convention in the searing heat there were plenty of protests and at least one flag-burning. Black Lives Matter protesters chased reporters away telling them they weren't welcome there. Demonstrators, some of whom were bitter Sanders supporters, stood outside the convention perimeter chanting "Jill, not Hill," the "Jill" being a reference to Jill Stein, the Green Party's presumptive presidential candidate.
Near the end of the night, Oscar winner Meryl Streep introduced Clinton who briefly addressed the convention via satellite from what looked like a bar in New York. It was not a memorable appearance. Presumably she's saving up profound things to say for her address on Thursday, the final night of the convention. What happened before that brief speech is more important. Clinton, who is unquestionably among the most corrupt politicians in the history of the United States, is now the first woman to receive a major party's nomination for the presidency. Democrats don't care about the terrible things she's done such as allowing four Americans to die defending U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, to keep the focus off the Obama administration's counter-terrorism failures mere weeks before Election Day. Some of them take pride in her ability to avoid responsibility for her many misdeeds. These people mock Republican nominee Donald Trump for joking that he could "shoot somebody" and not lose any voters. It's not what Trump said; it's the fact that he was the one saying it. It doesn't bother them at all that the cackling butcher of Benghazi has gotten Americans (and plenty of foreigners) killed and then lied to their loved ones' faces about what happened. They tie themselves in knots rationalizing their support for Clinton, going to extraordinary lengths to make their case. Some even perversely take pride in Clinton's ability to keep on surviving scandal after scandal after scandal. Lying, manipulating, and blackmailing are important survival skills, after all.

They spent much of Day Two of the Democratic National Convention faking party unity to hornswoggle the American people

If Clinton becomes the 45th president she will be the only chief executive who, to promote governmental efficiency, should have her own special prosecutor sworn in right alongside her. Why bother waiting? The nomination of a woman at the top of the ticket is so historic, so unprecedented, so cool, we keep hearing. Is it really a big deal? That depends where you sit. If you're a diversity cultist, it's a monumental achievement. Most of America was kind of impressed but not awestruck. People across the fruited plain watched the news from Philadelphia yesterday, thought "wow, that's sort of interesting," then changed the channel in hopes "NCIS" wasn't preempted. Having a female nominee isn't as earth-shattering as it would have been a couple of decades ago. Women have broken through the so-called glass ceiling in more or less every field of endeavor in America, including politics, so it's hard for normal people who aren't politics junkies to get excited about this historic but anticlimactic achievement. But Democrats are not normal people. Right now as they congratulate themselves on their enlightenment and moral superiority, they're hovering somewhere between enthusiasm and euphoric mania. They spent much of Day Two of the Democratic National Convention faking party unity to hornswoggle the American people. They tried to make yesterday's shotgun wedding between warring factions of a party determined to complete the treacherous fundamental transformation of America begun by America's first Marxist president seem like a happy marriage. It's going to be a hard sell.

Self-loathing and vulgar in-your-face tribalism. The crazy quilt that is the increasingly frayed Democrat coalition

Democrats were more polite on Tuesday than they were on Monday. Largely absent were the boos and jeers that heavily punctuated the proceedings of the previous day. However, sudden outbursts of civility on the floor of the Wells Fargo Center could not prevent the convention from descending into self-loathing and vulgar in-your-face tribalism. The crazy quilt that is the increasingly frayed Democrat coalition was there for all of the country to see. For the most part Tuesday was a carefully choreographed infomercial in which the leftists who dominate the Democratic Party pretended to believe in democracy and the American people. It was Hate America Day, which, if you think about it, is actually every day for the American Left. The proceedings were devoted to race-baiting and guilt-tripping Americans by making them feel bad that slavery existed -- until, of course, Republicans abolished it 151 years ago, a fact they usually leave out. But as Democrats tell the story, America is such a horrible place it's astonishing that anyone still wants to live here. The peculiar institution Democrats fought a bloody civil war to preserve still exists in watered-down form, they claim. Systemic racism is everywhere. Blacks are extrajudicially executed by racist police all the time. Jim Crow is lurking, waiting for an opportunity to reinvent himself. Minorities, and especially those of African descent, can't ever catch a break. In addition, women are on the verge of being forced into alleys to have coat-hanger abortions, according to the Left's paranoid vision. Employers pay women less than men. Inanimate objects are running wild in the streets gunning down Americans while the evil One Percent keep getting richer. America is the same old rotten, failed experiment, they think. Things can only get better if the Left retains its death grip on the executive branch. They have all the answers and if somehow they don't they'll hire new central planners and bureaucrats at taxpayer expense to come up with the answers. In the City of Brotherly Love yesterday, Democrats threw light on the heartwarming stories of illegal aliens who snuck into the country or overstayed their visas and who now demand to stay in the country forever. Actor America Ferrera smeared Trump. "According to Donald Trump, I'm probably a racist." The smear doesn't even make sense. If Ferrera was referring to the speech Trump gave to launch his campaign in which he said Mexican criminals were flooding the nation's southern border, she missed the mark. The 32-year-old was born in Los Angeles. She is not of Mexican ancestry. Her parents were from Honduras. But political strategists know most people won't think her statement through carefully and that it is likely to make an impression on voters. She is Latino, after all. Beside Ferrera stood actor-producer and rape-hoaxer Lena Dunham who gave a shout-out to her "fellow sexual assault survivors." In a memoir Dunham claimed a conservative student at her college sexually assaulted her. Breitbart News investigated and debunked the story. In the same book she wrote that when she was a young girl she sexually molested her baby sister, Grace. Dunham stands by that story. Dunham praised Clinton for declaring 22 years ago that "women's rights are human rights," and for protecting abortion rights. "Hillary knows that access and opportunity are the American promise, not transphobia, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and systemic racism. She knows we have to fight hatred of all kinds, and not ignite it for the craven purpose of seeking power." The creator of HBO's "Girls" trashed Trump saying that he "and his party think I should be punished for exercising my constitutional rights. His rhetoric about women takes us back to a time when we were meant to be beautiful and silent." The Democrats also released a slickly produced, star-studded music video for a tune they call "Our Fight Song (This is for Hillary)." It includes various pop singers, along with actors Jane Fonda, Alan Cumming, and Elizabeth Banks, the star of Zack and Miri Make a Porno and the Hunger Games movie franchise. (Banks also ran events from the convention podium for part of the evening.) Democrats put a sex-trafficking survivor from Indonesia named Ima Matul on stage to raise consciousness about this horrendous crime. Of course, nothing was said about the Islamic countries that engage in it. The party also grotesquely paraded on stage a group of black mothers who lost children in confrontations with the police or at the hands of criminals with guns. The party dubbed them the "Mothers of the Movement," whatever that means. Not all of the women thrust into the spotlight were mothers of what most people would consider victims. Two of the more high-profile women were mothers of young black men who would have been murderers had their intended victims not killed them first. One was the nasty Lezley McSpadden, mother of Michael Brown, the thug who tried to kill a police officer in Ferguson, Mo., after robbing a convenience store. McSpadden didn't speak but her behavior after her son's death speaks volumes. She allegedly assaulted and robbed her dead son's grandmother for selling "Justice for Mike Brown" merchandise. Instead of hiding her head in shame, she's been profiting from her son's death.

Hillary Clinton is no cartoon character but if she were, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians might be a good choice

Sybrina Fulton, who is reportedly a decent, normal person, did speak. She is the mother of Trayvon Martin who was shot to death in Sanford, Fla., by a neighborhood watch volunteer he was trying to kill. "Hillary Clinton has the compassion and understanding to comfort a grieving mother; she has the courage to lead the fight for commonsense gun legislation," Fulton said. "And she has a plan to repair the divide that so often exists between law enforcement and the communities they serve. This isn't about being politically correct. It's about protecting our children." Police officers and family members of slain cops asked to be included in the convention but Democrats refused because they don't want to alienate their terroristic allies in the racist Black Lives Matter movement. The nearly-impeached former Attorney General Eric Holder dropped by to offer his usual mixed message that yes, killing cops is bad, but the killers have legitimate grievances. "There should be no tension between protecting those who valiantly risk their lives to serve and ensuring that everyone is treated fairly by police," he said in a speech filled with oft-heard left-wing talking points. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright addressed delegates. She said Hillary has  President Harry Truman's "fighting spirit" and attacked Donald Trump. Trump's erratic foreign policy pronouncements have already done damage to America, she said. Earlier that evening, it was the South Dakota delegation that put Clinton over the top at 6:38 local time as Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who is DNC secretary, presided over the roll call. The Vermont delegation cast its votes last, bringing the final count to 2,842 votes for Clinton and 1,865 for Sanders. From the convention floor, Sanders paid lip service to party unity. The self-described and unrepentant socialist's loyalty to the Democratic Party is limited. It always has been. He's pragmatic in a way. He views the party quite properly as a vehicle to be used to advance a cause. If Democrats get hurt along the way they're just collateral damage to him. Whether Sanders is even a Democrat is a matter of some debate. His home state of Vermont does not offer party registration. Sanders claims to be a Democrat when it is in his self-interest. It is telling that he doesn't plan to raise money for Clinton's general election campaign and will not turn over his mailing lists. Nonetheless Sanders followed party tradition and gave the new nominee a boost from the convention floor after Vermont party boss Dottie Deans called on the senator to speak. He praised Clinton and urged Americans to vote for her, but added, "the movement, the revolution, continues in our state and our nation." In the hours leading up to this, Sanders tweeted, "Election days come and go. But political revolutions that attempt to transform our society never end." As the night wore on, Hillary's husband, the impeached 42nd president of the United States, took the stage to sell Americans on his wife's candidacy. Bill Clinton gave a warm, well-received oration on his life with Hillary. He commended her for her pursuit of "social justice" but left out her close friendship with the vicious community organizer Saul Alinsky. Drop Hillary into a situation, come back in a month, and she will have made things better, he said. "She's a change maker. That's what she does." Along with Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, President Clinton complimented Hillary for her ability to bring home the bacon for her constituents. Neither man referenced the corrupt cash-for-future-presidential-favors trading platform known as the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation. People are only attacking Hillary and telling lies about her because she is a threat to the status quo, he absurdly suggested. "A real change maker represents a real threat so your only option is to create a cartoon." Hillary Clinton is no cartoon character but if she were, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians might be a good choice.
