Much to the horror of the deep-in-the-tank Washington Post.

VIDEO: Trump promises to 'get rid of that crooked woman'

The real reason Trump is so hated by the political press is not that they don't like what he would do as president. They don't even have any idea what he would do as president. The real reason they hate him is that he not only refuses to play by their rules, but he pays no price for said refusal. It's sort of like Hillary and the law, except that that's the law, and Trump's apostasies are merely a constant middle finger to the news media. It's not hard to see which one they care about more. Anyway, the Washington Post's page of video clips is quite the spectacle, devoted almost entirely to supposed Trump slipups and debacles. And yesterday's most egregious example - they think - is this one:
You've seen how they try to do this before. They call out a specific phrase that Trump utters and present it to you as the most outrageous and sinister meaning of the phrase is clearly the one he intended to convey. You want to "get rid" of Hillary, eh? Well! That must mean you want to assassinate her! They try crap like this with Trump all the time, and here's why he ultimately infuriates them so. An ordinary politician would grovel, apologize for his "poor word choice" and vow in the future to be more sensitive and follow the rules imposed from on high by our betters in the news media. Trump? He just keeps right on saying what he wants to say. And despite what the Post wants, the general public is not horrified by his words because a) everyone knows that all he means by "get rid" of her is defeat her and end her obsessive quest for the presidency; and b) the things Trump says are the same things normal people say in the privacy of their homes every day.

Yes, East Coast liberals, I know you find this shocking. But most of us out here in flyover country also talk about getting rid of that crooked woman. We want her to go away, never again seek the presidency and get the hell out of our lives. And take her husband with her, which is probably the one thing she wants to do least. By the way, Trump's completely accurate take on the Electoral College and the way the political class talks about his chances is pretty hilarious too. So when Trump talks the way we do, and you don't like it, and he just keeps on doing it . . . that makes us want to elect him even more. And we know that infuriates you. And when we think about that, it makes us so very happy.
