Meanwhile, out-of-money Stein hopes federal courts will order equally pointless Pennsylvania recount

Recounts shows Trump's lead increasing in Wisconsin

At this rate, maybe we should have a recount in California too. Trump might pick up an extra 55 electoral votes. Maybe he won the meaningless national popular vote after all. The Wisconsin recount is not exactly yielding the results the Hillary campaign was hoping for when they hid in the corner and sent errand girl Jill Stein to go complain to the lunch room monitor. It turns out the only thing changing is the side of Trump's margin of victory. It's growing
– With 24% of the original number of votes recounted, representing 29.7% of the reporting units, Trump has gained 308 74 votes over the original county canvasses, Hillary Clinton has gained 187 45 votes and Stein has gained 171 41 votes. Projecting that over the remaining ballots, Trump’s lead over Clinton would grow by 121 votes, and his lead over Stein would grow by 137 votes. – The three biggest errors of the election thus far all came from election officials, not from either “hacked” voting machines or voters not making their intent clear enough to be known on Election Day. In the town of Centerville in Manitowoc County, 24 ballots for Clinton that weren’t counted on Election Day showed up for the recount. In the town of Bashaw in Washburn County, 33 votes that should have been counted for Trump in the canvass weren’t until Thursday. Backing those three incidents (including 17 votes not counted for Stein in Menominee County, found on the first day) out, Trump’s projected leads over Clinton and Stein would grow by 83 votes and 71 votes respectively.
By all means, keep recounting! Maybe Trump won New York too. Meanwhile, Stein's quixotic quest for a Pennsylvania recount isn't going so well. She's run out of money to pay for it herself, and she's got no serious legal recourse for demanding that the courts order one. But she's trying that route anyway, if only because she's got no other options remaining:

Stein’s lawyers, however, had offered no evidence of hacking in Pennsylvania’s election. They sought unsuccessfully in recent days to get various counties to allow a forensic examination of their election system software. Lawyers for Trump and the state Republican Party argued there was no evidence, or even an allegation, that tampering with Pennsylvania’s voting systems had occurred. Further, Pennsylvania law does not allow a court-ordered recount, they argued, and a lawyer for the Green Party had acknowledged that the effort was without precedent in Pennsylvania. A statement from the Pennsylvania GOP sent Saturday night read, in part: “The filing of a discontinuance of the Election Contest by Jill Stein’s petitioners tonight is a recognition that their Election Contest was completely without merit, and meant solely for purposes to delay the Electoral College vote in Pennsylvania for President-Elect Trump…Candidate Jill Stein’s allegations created the false allusion that some unidentified foreign government hacked our state’s voting systems when absolutely no such proof existed. We believe that she always knew that she had no such proof.”

A fringe candidate who got almost no votes demands - for no reason - a recount that will have no effect

That's exactly how absurd this whole thing has become. A fringe candidate who got almost no votes demands - for no reason - a recount that will have no effect. She should have been laughed out of every state where she brought this ridiculous demand as soon as she opened her mouth. By the way, don't think for a second that Hillary's people aren't encouraging this behind the scenes. I'm sure they realize the odds are wildly against them accomplishing anything with this, but the Clintons never accept defeat when there's any conceivable reason they might not have to. They won't demand the recount themselves because then it will be obvious that Hillary refuses to accept the election results - after she skewered Trump for his alleged intention to do the exact same thing. So they let Stein take the lead while they hind behind her skirt and hope against all hope that the recount produces a miracle, and a Hillary presidency. That, after all, has been the sole purpose of Hillary's life since the day Bill was elected. It's never going to happen. That's clear to everyone now. Except, perhaps, the one person for whom accepting reality is just too much.
