USA Today Washington Bureau Chief: Dem Party 'hollowed out' in for 'world of hurt'

As I've pointed out before, the Democrats didn't just lose an election in November. Their defeat wasn't as simple as one presidential race. As I wrote on Election Day, this one was for all the marbles. Generations of liberal progressive ideology - both past and future - were on the 2016 ballot. Had Democrats won, they would have owned the Supreme Court and the concept of the United States as a constitutionally-limited republic would have been decimated.
Instead, the left was roundly rejected. This morning I pointed out their steadfast refusal to acknowledge that fact. The re-election of Nancy Pelosi as Democrat leader indicates that they're more than willing to whistle past the graveyard. ...But, hey. Maybe you think I'm just a hack. I've been right about everything, but maybe you're convinced that I'm just some radical right-winger who doesn't know what he's talking about. Perhaps you need to hear the truth from "the old media." If that's the case, it doesn't get much older than USA Today. Here's Susan Page. She's the Washington Bureau Chief for that paper you're pretty sure you got for free at a Hampton Inn once. She's here to tell you that the Dems are in deep, deep, trouble.

The great thing about Ms. Page's comments is that they're absolutely 100% correct ...but Democrats will never admit it. As they have in elections past, they'll pretend that they "failed to articulate the message" and they'll double down on their lunacy. They'll scream about racism and sexism, whine about transgender bathrooms, and do everything they can to portray the United States as the world's number one problem. Yes, in their heart of hearts they'll know that this is precisely why they lost, but they're in too deep. There's no turning back. If they abandon their radical left-wing base, they lose. If they push forward with their anti-constitutional goals, they lose. If they admit the fiasco of the last eight years, they lose. I have no doubt that, one day, the Democrat party will rise again. However, in order to do so, it will have to jettison its current crop of crazies. With Pelosi back in charge and loons like Keith Ellison on the rise, it appears that day of reckoning is a long way off. Good. The longer they flounder, the better off we'll all be.
