Valerie Jarrett: Donald Trump's win was a 'soul crushing' 'punch to the stomach'

As the Washington Post once pointed out, Valerie Jarrett has earned quite the laundry list of dubious nicknames. At various times, she's been referred to as “the spy," "the night stalker," "the Obama whisperer," and "the human decoder ring." As one of Obama's top advisors she's earned a reputation for being both a shameless toady suck-up and a Machiavellian mastermind. Whatever else she may or may not be, it's clear she's a far-left ideologue who wields an unusual level of power and influence within the Obama White House. Her goals are, uniformly, influenced by her familial connections to a variety of hardcore communists and the Muslim Brotherhood.

thanks to Obama's magnanimous demeanor, everyone's getting along

So, you should probably celebrate when she says that the election of Donald Trump was "soul crushing."
“Obviously, we were surprised by the outcome of the election. It kind of was like — I’m not sure what the right analogy would be — but like a punch in the stomach, let’s say. Soul-crushing might be another description. But that’s the democracy that we have. The people get to decide and the elections matter and we have to get about the business of doing our job.”
Fortunately - or unfortunately, depending on your perspective - things have gotten a lot better since November. Jarrett says that thanks to Obama's magnanimous demeanor, everyone's getting along. Obama, she says "sets the tone and he’s upbeat. He’s excited about what we’ve accomplished. And so, I think the mood is a lot better today than it was the day after the election, that’s for sure.”

She also thinks that Trump's supposed admiration for Obama is helping to smooth things over. “I understand why he likes him,” she says. “I guess I wish he’d gotten to know him sooner and had spent some time with him. I also think it reflects on President Obama’s attitude, which is he’s being very open and available and accessible.” Phew. It would appear that President Obama is just so wonderful that Jarrett's soul has been un-crushed. She, her boss, and what’s left of her soul, will be gone in 42 days.
