Blind squirrel finds nut. ...Sort of

Chuck Todd hammers Chuck Schumer over the very 'petty delay tactics' he promised he'd employ

Barring a miracle or a disaster, President Trump's nominees are going to be confirmed. There's essentially nothing the Democrats can do to stop it. So, when Chuck Schumer admits that "in all probability" Mike Pompeo will become the next CIA director, he's really soft-selling the situation. Still, Chuck is Chuck. If he can make things more difficult for the new administration - even the slightest bit - he's going to do it. It's pointless, vain, and doomed to fail, but that's the plan. ...And, lo and behold, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd has noticed. Watch as Chuck Todd pounds Schumer's "petty delay tactics," while simultaneously missing the point completely:
OK, fine. It's always fun to watch a blind squirrel find a nut, just as it's entertaining to hear someone call Schumer on his B.S. However, one must wonder why Todd seems so surprised. What Chuck Todd fails to mention is that "Petty delay tactics" are exactly what Schumer promised, less than a month ago. If Todd had been paying attention, he might have known about this: In that case, Schumer was talking about SCOTUS nominees, but you can rest assured that Chuck will employ this tactic wherever possible. No nominee - to any position - will ever be good enough, since they will have been nominated by President Donald Trump. Regardless of their qualifications, anyone this administration puts forth will be portrayed as either a monster or an idiot, and their nomination will be opposed as much as possible. Democrats have no other recourse, so they're going to embark on a 4-8 year course of obstruction, delays, and interference. Essentially, they're going to employ the tactics they've falsely accused Republicans of using throughout the Obama administration. ...And in the end, they'll only dig themselves into a deeper hole.
