New poll shows California secession movement gaining steam

The dream is alive! According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, there are now more Californians than ever who support the idea of seceding from the United States. Dubbed the "Calexit" movement, the goal is to make California its own country, thus bestowing upon the world a happy, prosperous, California-free, America where it will be virtually impossible to elect a Democrat President.
Oh wait, sorry, that's our goal, not theirs. They just hate Trump so they want to break away from the Union. From The Hill:
More Californians are now hoping their state secedes from the United States, a new poll shows. About 32 percent of Californians want to create their own country, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll found, including many Democrats who are frustrated with the election of President Trump. Pollsters surveyed 500 Californians between Dec. 6 and Jan. 19. Nationally, 22 percent of respondents favor secession, they found.

The movement — dubbed “Calexit” — began after Trump won the 2016 presidential election. A group of liberal Californians formed the Yes California Independence campaign with the hopes of getting a secession initiative on the state’s 2018 ballot.
32% might not seem like much, but that's a substantial number. It's also an impressive uptick, considering secession was only polling at 20% in 2014. So take heart, California. We know your exit seems like (and probably is) a pipe dream. However, if you knuckle down and work hard, it's not impossible for you to become your own nation - albeit one that will start life with an astronomical budget deficit and immediately drive into the fiscal ditch thanks to your out-of-control social programs. Make it happen but, please, leave Napa and Sonoma when you go.
