Special to Bombthrowers Judge James Robart, the radical judge who endorsed the racist Black Lives Matter hate group from the bench and illegally blocked President Trump's order to keep Americans safe, is a warning to the new administration. Robart's judicial title is a Republican sin. The media describes Robart as a Bush nominee. What it neglects to mention is the backstory.

The system is the swamp that needs draining

James Robart was a Seattle corporate lawyer. He wrote a $1,000 check to Bush in 1999. He wrote three checks to Senator Slade Gorton. Gorton and Patty Murray established a "bipartisan" vetting committee. "We could essentially live with any of the names put forward," Mr. Gorton, who retired from the Senate in 2001, said in an interview on Saturday. "Both Patty Murray and I felt that we were getting good judges. We weren't getting judges who were personal enemies or who were personally obnoxious to us." The system has worked well for two decades, he said, but he added that he was "not sure" whether it would continue under Mr. Trump. The system is the swamp that needs draining.

The judge described as a Bush nominee was actually put forward by two Democrats

Once Robart's nomination came up, he was put forward by Maria Cantwell who had actually beaten Gorton in the election. Mr. Robart's nomination is the result of a bipartisan selection process that has worked very well for Washington State. Members of Washington State's legal community, the White House, and my colleague Senator Patty Murray and I worked together to review a group of applicants. This cooperative approach has produced a number of highly qualified judicial nominees, and I believe it is a sound model for other States. I am confident that James Robart will make an outstanding Federal judge, and that the people of the Western District of Washington will be well-served by his presence on the bench.
