California Can’t Afford to Fix Dams, But They Want to Give Universal Healthcare to Illegal Aliens

Only in California… The land of Pelosi, fruits and nuts has a state debt that is spiraling out of control (over a trillion dollars), they are so short on water they have to buy much of it from neighboring states and they have a healthcare industry that is on the brink of collapse due to the ever burgeoning population of illegal aliens. (Or as Governor Moonbeam would say “undocumented workers”.)
California is a state that willingly shifts money away from very legitimate public concerns, such as their infrastructure (the Oroville dam being the latest example) and pours it into “progressive” causes – like healthcare for all the “undocumented workers”, including the millions who don’t actually work but do receive food stamps, WIC vouchers and other goodies. A number of California hospitals no longer operate and even trying to get treatment in Los Angeles county is generally fraught with delays. In fact in LA county, over 60% of the uninsured receiving treatment in emergency rooms are illegals who are getting their treatment for free. In the meantime, citizens and legal residents not only have to pay, they receive no higher priority for what amounts to rationed services than those who are there illegally to begin with. Now “progressive” California has “the answer” – universal healthcare for all – including the “undocumented” patients.

“if you think healthcare costs a lot now, wait ‘til it’s free.”

(From Breitbart):
California Democrats made a surprise move late Friday to foil President Trump’s promise to repeal ObamaCare—by introducing a stand-alone, single-payer healthcare system in California. The Mercury News reported that two California lawmakers Friday introduced legislation to replace private insurance with a government-run health care system covering all 38 million Californians—including its undocumented residents. “We’ve reached this pivotal moment,” Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), told the Mercury News in an interview Friday, “and I thought to myself: `Look, now more than ever is the time to talk about universal health care.’”
If California can’t afford to fix dangerous, worn out dams, how exactly are they going to pay for all of this proposed “free” healthcare? As P.J. O’Rourke famously said, “if you think healthcare costs a lot now, wait ‘til it’s free.”
