Legacy of Dystopia

'Old Glory' Could Never Be A Placard

Usually, after playing a game of human chess resulting in yet another Guernica, politicians have to acknowledge that utopia has inevitably and traditionally ended in dystopia. As a matter of course, such an admission does not translate into "errors have been made" but means simply "whoops! We are losing our grip on "folks". The fact that the country was hit by the destructive political cyclone won't matter much, unless the "pawns" decide to change the game fundamentally. As observed by George Orwell (1984) : "And if all others accepted the lie which the party imposed, if all records told the same tale--then the lie passed into history and became the truth".
Imagine a trial where a honorable Veteran must prove that he did not display a placard , but American flag, and that his co-defendant, the Old Glory must prove that it is not a placard...Neither Kafka, nor Orwell came up with this insane story; the ex- administration did. The trial will take place on Tuesday, April 18 and we can show our support for Old Glory and the Veteran who represents us, by displaying an American Flag--at our residence, at work, close to our heart... As reported by Daily Mail :"The charges were filed under the Obama Administration and Rosebrock's legal counsel hopes the Trump administration, and in particular attorney general Jeff Sessions, will see his actions differently" . Well, if it was to turn out that Old Glory is now just "a placard", the American flag would officially become the symbol of American Dystopia. In the dystopian chess game there's no piece value system: the kings are being spied on, the bishops substituted with preachers of political correctness, the army knights are turned into a homeless population. According to the "Law of Coercive Responsiveness ", every human being is just a disposable figurine.

The type of pseudo-ideologists unmasked by J.S Mill (1868) in one of his Parliamentary speeches: "What is commonly called Utopian is something too good to be practicable; but what they appear to favor is too bad to be practicable", will not hesitate to form a shadow government, foreign alliances and even own threat- squads. The after-taste of political repression won't just go away until it's been addressed; the echo of coercion threatens to damage every level of the relationship of confidence even with a new government. People do not forget suffering, they don't get over lost time and health; fiscal and judicial harassment leave open wounds; threats and stalking kill not only individual but national freedom. Orwell warned:" "Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen". There is no transition from political repression to democracy other than the truth. In Franz Kafka's words we must "start with what is right rather than what is acceptable". Dystopia is not even "acceptable", but the most ruthless of human species keep trying to make it accepted... The left publicly and vocally laments that "Obama's legacy" will be dismissed from the nation's mind. Don't worry. We are not about to forget.
