TMZ's Harvey Levin: Traditional media destroying itself with false objectivity, anti-Trump bullying

A couple of months ago, TMZ founder Harvey Levin met with Donald Trump at the White House. If you heard about it, you probably caught a whiff of the left-wing outrage it engendered. If the Trump-hating ideologues are to be believed, everyone who deals with Trump is a turncoat to the cause, the American people, and the human race. The prescribed course of action involves stonewalling the President's agenda, the abject destruction of anyone who dare to shake his hand, and efforts to silence the speech of their opponents. It's a game they can't (and won't) win. Still, it's what they've decided to do, and the chief instrument of their never-ending attack is the old media.

Ridiculously transparent mask of objectivity

The disturbed individuals at hundreds of outlets like CNN and the New York Times have made it their crusade to destroy Trump - and the GOP - while maintaining a ridiculously transparent mask of objectivity. He doesn't agree with everything Trump wants to do, but the celeb-gossip kingpin isn't buying the media's bogus self-righteousness either. Check out the truth bomb he dropped Monday, at the National Association of Broadcasters' annual conference:
"It is hilarious to me and kind of sad, that I was in the waiting room in the West Wing for a half hour before I walked in there. And probably saw a hundred people, including reporters. So, nothing happened until a week later and then people were furious that I got in there and - actually I was in Washington for something different - and went in there. ...What I find unbelievable is the bullying in traditional media. I think there are some traditional media outlets that are getting ruined by this administration - and ruined by their own deeds. There are certain networks and newspapers that are very clear on who they are and what they feel. And that's fine. If you put yourself out as somebody who supports Trump or, like MSNBC is against Trump, at least you get it. You know what you're getting.

But when you pretend like you are objective, but you're not, and you are angry and you are trying to kill and bully, I think that is killing and I don't think they know it yet. But I think some of the trusted names in news are not trusted anymore because of this. I think it's so preposterous that Kanye West went to see Trump, he got trashed. Steve Harvey went to see Trump, he got trashed. They went after me for seeing Trump. So I guess the solution is 'nobody should see him. It should be a boycott.' That is so stupid. And let me just say: It's stupid because, look, I disagree with some of the stuff he does and believes - and I'm not sure if some of the stuff he does is stuff he believes. And I'm not saying I disagree with everything he does, but I disagree with some of the stuff he does and believes. I went in there and I voiced an opinion on some things - and why would you not get in that game? If you disagree, the solution is to boycott? The guy has already shown in the last three weeks he's changed his mind on five things, so if he's willing to change his mind, why would you sit on the sidelines, bully people who go in there? It's absurd. It is the dumbest thing I have ever seen."

Effort to belittle, insult, and silence the opposition has become a fascistic hallmark of the modern American left

Hear hear! Levin is 100% correct on this. You can disagree all you want. You can voice those concerns, and you have a responsibility to make your opinions knows. You also have every right to try and change the President's mind. However, the effort to belittle, insult, and silence the opposition has become a fascistic hallmark of the modern American left. As Levin says, they don't know it yet, but their arrogance - along with the barely-cloaked bias - is destroying their prized media institutions. It's also setting them up for a showdown they can't possibly win.
