At her press conference, she kept crying “Trump broke me, Trump broke me.” Now Kathy, that was really funny!

Because you’re a comedian does not mean everything you say or do is a joke

Because you’re a comedian does not mean everything you say or do is a joke Although I have not been writing much lately, I have written thousands of articles for Canada Free Press and its hard copy predecessor, Toronto Free Press, during the last 20 plus years. Although I have occasionally thrown in an “I,” I have always avoided writing in the first person. Expressing an opinion by inserting something like “I think” gives the reader the opportunity to say “Who cares what he thinks?” And besides, I’m not all that interesting. But on this occasion, there is no other way to do it.

Griffin is vile and disgusting

The late star John Candy and I had a mutual friend and I would run into him from time to time. These meetings mainly occurred at Toronto Blue Jays games where I sat beside the comedian. He and our friend had season tickets side by side. During this time, before he moved to California he was not the big star he was when he died. But Candy was well on his way, starring in SCTV and having appeared several movies. I was at a small party one evening when Candy entered the room. A few hours earlier there had been a major earthquake, somewhere in Europe as I recall. After saying “hi” to the room, Candy asked if we heard about the earthquake. The quiet chatter going on in the room suddenly stopped and everyone stared at him. We were all waiting for the punch line. Candy was a sensitive guy who was really upset about the devastation and loss of life that day. But me, like the others, was waiting for the comedian to tell an earthquake joke. I felt really bad. All of this brings us to Kathy Griffin. I learned that day about 40 years ago that just because a person is a comedian who likes to resort to humour even when not performing does not mean everything coming out of their mouth is a joke or an attempt to be funny. People are people despite what their occupation is. And comedians, like everyone else, are far from being one-dimensional. Humour aside, Candy was one of the nicest people I ever met, while Griffin is vile and disgusting.

Broads on The View who whined that poor Kathy’s joke just wasn’t funny

Almost as bad as those who praise Griffin for her posing with what appeared to be the severed head of Trump are those who buy her justification for doing it. It was just a joke or a parody that did not go over well. An example were the broads on The View who whined that poor Kathy’s joke just wasn’t funny. Griffin, despite her whining to the contrary, was not trying to be funny. She is a serious Trump-hating political activist who was using her fame to illustrate how she would like to see Trump gone. Just because she happens to be a comedian is no reason to buy her argument that she was just making a joke. Griffin is just deluding herself in believing because she is a comedian, her portrayal of a beheaded Trump was a joke. Then again she is not particularly bright. In blaming Trump for what she believes is the end of her career, she adopts what a lot of the left think. Trump supporters are unable to think for themselves and are only reacting negatively to her on orders from The Donald. She would be shocked to learn that many of us were disgusted by the picture even before we heard what Trump and members of his family had to say about it. Not only is she totally brain dead but like her idol Hillary, nothing is her fault. If people are mad at her, it’s Trump’s fault. She’s proud of the fact she goes after Trump’s entire family including his 11-year-old son. If Barron was traumatized by what she did, it was his parents’ fault. They should have prevented him from ever seeing the image. Griffin knew damn well what she was doing long before the picture entered the public realm. But not being too bright, she miscalculated the reaction from Al Franken, Anderson Cooper, Chelsea Clinton and others on the left. It never entered her little mind that someone like Cooper would be more interested in keeping his job than expressing his joy at seeing an image of a beheaded Trump. And being in her own little world, she couldn’t care less about how relatives of Americans such as Daniel Pearl who were beheaded by al Qaeda feel. Vile and dumb!

Trump Derangement Syndrome

Hopefully she will sue Trump who she blames for her downfall. She is well beyond the stage where bad publicity is better than no publicity at all. She and her ISIS-like photo should remain in the public eye as the greatest symbol yet of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Griffin, posing as an ISIS terrorist with Trump’s severed head serves as a constant reminder that liberalism really is a mental disorder. No decent human being should buy her argument that the image was a work of art or a parody. At her press conference, she kept crying “Trump broke me, Trump broke me.” Now Kathy, that was really funny!
