Trump announces cancellation of 'terrible & misguided deal w/ the Castro regime'

If you don't know my feelings on Obama's ridiculously lopsided deal with Raul Castro, the man who tried to murder my father-in-law, you can read about it here. Suffice it to say that the agreement put in place by Barack Obama made absolutely no sense, was on track to achieve absolutely none of its stated goals, and served only to enrich the despots running Cuba. Today, President Trump announced that he was reversing most of it. As USA Today reports:
Reversing yet another policy move by Barack Obama, President Trump plans to re-institute restrictions on travel to Cuba and U.S. business dealings with entities tied to the Cuban military and intelligence services, officials said Thursday.
In other words, Raul Castro can say goodbye to all the corporate lucre he hoped to see flooding his bank account.
Trump's changes, to be announced during a Friday speech in Miami, are not expected to affect the re-establishment of basic diplomatic relations with Cuba, including renewed embassies in the respective country's capitals. "The new policy centers on the belief that the oppressed Cuban people — rather than the oppressive Castro regime’s military and its subsidiaries — should benefit from American engagement with the island,"
Diplomatic relations are fine with me, as I've said before, as long as the murderers in the Castro regime don't benefit. "Deals" with these monsters should be one-sided in that they should only ever benefit the United States or the Cuban people. If we're going to re-establish relations, they should exist only to offer humanitarian aid to Cuban subjects, or to pressure the Castros to relinquish power. Any bargain which props up the Castro regime, funnels cash to their dictatorship, or demands concessions of the United States is patently absurd. ...And that's exactly the deal Obama made. This is good news, indeed.
