If there's one thing the left loves more than the elimination of your 2nd Amendment rights, it's increasing taxes. They never miss an opportunity to demand higher and higher rates, more and more confiscation, and ever-increasing penalties for success. All federal power flows from the government's ability to take what you earn and, and the left adores federal power, so there's rarely a tax they don't like.
Complain, and you'll be berated. Despite the fact that you do it at the point of a gun, they argue that silently enduring over-taxation is a symbol of patriotism and virtue.
Messing: A wealthy one-percenter getting rich on the back of the little guy
So they should be thrilled that top Trump adviser Steve Bannon is pushing for a tax hike on the wealthy, right? I mean, I think it's a horrible idea, but then I believe the corporate tax rate should be zero, and we should have a flat or fair tax that's as low as possible. I'm not sure when that idea fell out of favor with Republicans, but apparently it has. "The Resistance" should be thrilled, correct?
Wrong.
Say what? I thought this was the dream! Paying more isn't just a political goal, it's the virtue-signaling Holy Grail. Could it be that Ms. Messing is refusing to "pay her fair share?" Is she a "wealthy one-percenter getting rich on the back of the little guy?" Hmmmm....
There are a couple of possibilities here.
A: Messing has just realized that when Democrats rail against the "1%," they're railing against her.
B: Messing is a straight-up communist in the Michael Moore mold, and she thinks she should be paying something much, much, closer to 100%. Remember, the slovenly left-wing propaganda filmmaker has advocated taxes in the 70-80% range, so Messing could be on board with that.
I'm sure that, when Messing finally clarifies her tweet, she'll choose that second option. However, I suspect there's a simpler, more likely, explanation.

C: It's possible that Messing is simply a well-coddled dolt who doesn't realize that Bannon's plan represents a roughly 5% increase. It's entirely plausible that she's just another Hollywood millionaire who's surrounded by a small army of accountants that protects her from the realities of life. In fact, I'm willing to bet that she saw Bannon's name and - because she has no idea what her tax rate actually is - decided it was a cut.
Resistance Commando Messing has yet to comment on her tweet, but that's understandable since it's been a busy 16 hours of screaming about transgender soldiers and her hatred of Donald Trump.
