'Woulda won?' not a chance

Watch Bernie stammer his way through a terrible non-answer about why blue states can't afford single-payer

Deep blue states like Vermont and California don't have single payer healthcare. Leftists like Bernie Sanders have tried to ram it through, but no one has managed to make it happen. The reason? It's too expensive, and eventually the legislation fails because even socialists are forced to admit that the numbers just don't add up. There's no way to pay for it.

Why "cobalt blue" states don't have their own single payer systems

This weekend, Jake Tapper asked Bernie Sanders why "cobalt blue" states don't have their own single payer systems. As you would expect, Bernie doesn't have a good answer. He stammers, talks around the reality of single-payer's shortcomings, yaps about Canada, and tries to pivot to an attack on insurance companies and Republicans. None of it works. Enjoy the following clip. As always, when Bernie’s asked a tough question, he gets tripped up by the fact that his fraudulent ideology is doomed to fail.

We've discussed this before, but I don't think "Bernie would have won." That seems to be the left's mantra these days, but I'm not buying it. If you want to know why, let this video serve as "exhibit A." If you're part of the "Bernie was the guy" camp, consider this: Bernie had the luxury of leaving the race before anyone asked him any difficult questions. He never had to defend his policies, never had to make the case for $32 trillion in new taxes, and never had anyone pick away at his faulty logic. Thanks to Debbie Wasserman Schultz's corruption, Bernie had the luxury of wandering away during the sweetheart phase. Had he stuck around long enough to face a real grilling, we would have seen some version of this clip play out over and over - because his vision of the future is a snake-oil fantasy. He simply has no workable, defensible, positions.
