Who's buried in Grant's Tomb? Maybe no one - after NYC's anti-statue goon squad 'reviews' it

If you've ever visited Columbus Circle in New York City, you no doubt saw the statue of the area's namesake, Christopher Columbus. It's 75 feet high, so if you missed it, something's wrong with you. If you've never seen it, I suggest you hurry. Mayor Bill DE Blasio - who recently chose to temporarily abandon his city to join socialist rioters in Germany - has created a task forced charged with purging "symbols of hate" from the streets of the Big Apple. ...And Columbus is on his chopping block:
“He is a controversial figure, and I know that many people take offense to that, but for many of us who come from the Caribbean Islands we see him as a controversial figure,” Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito said. “We have to look at history. We have to look at it thoroughly and clearly.” The council speaker said Columbus is just one of several things New York City should consider for the dust heap of history as part of the mayor’s 90 day review of monuments, statues, and other icons in the wake of the demonstrations by white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia.
OK, so I "get" that. I don't agree with taking down the statue for a second, but I get it. The obliteration of American history is a moronic, evil, Orwellian display - the sort of fascist posturing that you expect from the radical base of the modern Democrat party. Still, their disdain for Columbus is, at the very least, comprehensible. Unfortunately, the left just can't help itself, and they've decided to let their witch-hunt run hog wild. In addition to Columbus, they've decided it would also be wise to also target the tomb of General and President Ulysses S. Grant. Yes, that's right. In the future, the correct answer to the old joke, "who's buried in Grant's tomb," could be "What tomb?"

A spokesperson said Viverito also thinks that Grant’s Tomb should be on the review list. Grant has been regarded by some as anti-Semitic. “In 1862, he signed general order 11, expelling Jews from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi. I wonder if you think that given the large number of Jewish, he should be buried in New York City,” CBS2’s Kramer asked the mayor. “Marcia, I’m not familiar with that history. Obviously I take it very seriously, but I’m not familiar with it. We don’t tolerate anti-Semitism in New York City,” the mayor said. “We have to look at each one of these cases. We’ll have a commission. They’ll come up with some universal rules.”
So far, it seems that the 'universal rule' has been "If a fascist mob screams loud enough, we'll think about tearing it down." Last week, I suggested that grave desecration was the obvious next step for this sort of anti-history thuggery. Looks like I may have been right.

I'm not arguing that Grant's Order 11 wasn't awful. It was. It was one of millions of awful things that happened before Grant became President, and well before anyone currently living was even born. Never the less, leftists are claiming victim status because they've been forced to witness the horror of a President's final resting place. So, the question remains: How far are these people willing to go in their scheme to obfuscate each and every one of the nation's unpleasant historical facts? As the CBS News New York reporter points out in the clip below, New York's namesake, The Duke of York, was a slave trader. Does the city have to change its name?
