People who actually pay attention are a problem for propagandists masquerading as journalists

CNN tries to lecture six Trump supporters; that doesn't go well

She asks for a show of hands: Who had a problem with the president's response to Charlottesville. No hands go up. She's aghast. So they proceed to demonstrate that they know more about what happened than she wants them to know, apparently because they didn't get their news from CNN:
There might have been something worthwhile about Trump-hating CNN having a panel consisting solely of Trump supporters on to explain their point of view. Both CNN and its viewers might have learned a few things that would help make their coverage more reality-based going forward. Too bad CNN didn't approach it that way. Fox alum Alisyn Camerota chose instead to try to lecture the panelists, telling them that they were enabling white supremacists by refusing to sign on with the media orthodoxy about what happened and what Trump said about it. The weakest moment in a very weak performance for Camerota was when she tried to assert - as many others in her profession have over the course of these weeks - that Antifa was there to do nothing more than oppose Nazis, and what could be wrong with opposing Nazis? When one of the panelists tries to tell her about the true nature of Antifa, she acts as if she has no idea what he's talking about and he must be just making it up. I'm honestly not sure here: Are the people of CNN really that clueless about what Antifa really is? Or do they know perfectly well, and they're being that dishonest about it because admitting it would vindicate Trump's "many sides" statement? MediaWorld is a strange place, and you'd be surprised how many things are taken as gospel truth that anyone with clear vision and common sense can see are total garbage. I sort of get the impression in retrospect that CNN's purpose was to put these people on display, to show the people who watch and believe CNN: See what kooks these Trump supporters are? And they might have succeeded insofar as those normal CNN viewers are just as convinced as Alisyn Camerota that Antifa is peace-loving and that Trump is encouraging Nazis, thus making our six panelists complete idiots for thinking otherwise. And why would CNN viewers think this? Because they get their news from CNN.
