Is anyone impressed when rich football players sit on their butts?

Although the late 70s are only a distant, hazy memory for me, a Generation Xer, it becomes clearer and clearer that we have gone back to those fun-filled days of racial anger and protests. The clearest signal, of course, is what is happening with the National Football League.

Kaepernick’s preening protest

As most sports fans know, in 2016, Colin Kaepernick, seeking to jumpstart his faltering career as a starting quarterback, began to protest, by sitting (then later, kneeling), while the “Star-Spangled Banner” was being played before the start of games. Kaepernick rationalized his behavior by saying, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” Coincidentally, at the very same time, Kaepernick began to date a new woman, a Hot 97 DJ and MTV host Nessa Diab, who also is fan of the phony warriors of Black Lives Matter, Fidel Castro, and cop-killer Assata Shakur. Which should surprise absolutely no one. Kaepernick’s preening protest for his leftist love immediately caught on with many other black millionaire football players (and some white players as well). Why? Colin would claim because of the epidemic of racism roiling the United States. But I am thinking it has a lot more to do with the unhinged leftist rage over the election of Republican Donald Trump. Let’s face it, when a Republican, any Republican, comes into the White House, things change for the leftist elites. The plight of the poor shoots up in importance. Wars become bad again. The homeless reappear. And the inherent vicious anti-black – there is no other kind to a lefty – racism of the system instantly becomes the focus of the elite media.

This occurred during the two terms of the second President Bush, who had been preceded by “The First Black President,” Bill Clinton. And now it will be déjà vu all over again, under President Trump, who was preceded by The Real First Black President, Barack Hussein Obama. Apparently, the fact that the United States has now had two “black” Democrat presidents, each serving two terms, is proof of the anti-black racism inherent in the system. It should not be necessary for me to point out how this is yet another example of leftist virtue-signaling in the form of disgustingly fake news about our nation. But because the morons who run our schools – both secondary and college – keep ignoring the facts and pushing their BS propaganda on the youth, I do what I have to do. The United States of America is among the least racist nations ever. In no other nation have so many diverse colors, creeds, and religions prospered, with such success. The U.S. may have had black slavery, but we also fought a brutal civil war to end it, and it did end, over 150 years ago. The nations of Europe had slavery, and (the related) serfdom for thousands of years. Much of the Arab world, including the wealthy Gulf States, still had black slavery one hundred years after the end of the U.S. Civil War. Try being a non-wealthy and well-known black man or black woman in Europe or in Saudi Arabia these days; see how far that gets ya, Colin and Nessa. It is also a reprehensible thing that Kaepernick and his political lemmings protest the United States at a football game. Why is football, a sport where most players make huge salaries and are black, the appropriate venue for these attacks? Are the NFL fans racists? No and no. But for leftist fanatics, everything is political, and as Churchill once famously said, a “fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.”

Wow, just like Colin! – the NFL is in deep trouble because of its shameful behavior

But these lefty players are real lemmings when it comes to their sit-down protest. Like the proverbial lemmings who commit suicide in their mating season – wow, just like Colin! – the NFL is in deep trouble because of its shameful behavior. The average NFL fan is a white, male, conservative, moderate, or apolitical. (The white lefties who drive the SJW agenda largely hate football, and are now crusading against the dangers of concussions.) So, when Kaepernick, and the rest of the political lemmings, pose, by sitting, they antagonize the fan who watches their games, buys their jerseys, and participates in their fantasy football leagues. And, believe it or not, these NFL fans don’t like being insulted by these posers. So, NFL fans are increasingly tuning out the sport, which is certainly going to hurt Colin Kaepernick and his buddies on their bottom line. Possibly turning them from rich black football players in the U.S. into poor unemployed black men with no marketable skills. I think there is a lesson here, don’t you? Some irony, too.
