Instead, Soeiro wrote, the White House should worry more about providing support to schools that are underfunded and subject to government neglect. "Why not go out of your way to gift books to underfunded and underprivileged communities that continue to be marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos?" she wrote. Soeiro added: “Another fact that many people are unaware of is that Dr. Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes.” According to CBS Boston, Cambridge Public Schools said in a statement that Phipps Soeiro "was not authorized to accept or reject donated books on behalf of the school or school district" and counseled her on a policy against using public resources for political purposes.
But Phipps Soeiro said the books were "a bit of a cliché, a tired and worn ambassador for children’s literature."Yes, according to the snowflake brigade, the works of Dr. Seuss - books which champion acceptance, equality, curiosity, individuality, exploration, and environmentalism, are chock full of "racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes." The photo was taken at a special "Green Eggs Breakfast" in celebration of Theodor Seuss Geisel's birthday, and the only "cliche" I see here is that tired old saw about left-wing hypocrisy.
