Alabama Senate results: Doug Jones defeats Roy Moore in close race

Roy Moore With nearly all precincts reporting, Doug Jones has defeated Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race.
As we write this, Jones leads by about 10,000 votes with 89 percent of precincts reporting, and the remaining ones are blue precincts. Fox and the AP have both called it for Jones. It was close all the way to the end, and since the polls had been all over the place it was virtually impossible to forecast what might happen. A lot of that might have had to do with people being reluctant to tell pollsters what they were really going to do. Normally an Alabama Senate race wouldn't be remotely close, so deep red is the state. But we all know this wasn't a normal race, and we all know why. The Senate GOP had better pass that tax cut before Jones is sworn in to replace Luther Strange.
