UPDATE: Reince Priebus has issued a statement saying he supports the Scaramucci hiring "100%." So, it's a question of who's version you believe...
I doubt this one will come as a surprise to many people, but Sean # has resigned as White House Press Secretary. If you've been observing the way this administration dysfunctions, this probably feels like something that's been coming for a long time. The specific reason, it seems, is that # is not a fan of President Trump's decision to make Anthony Scaramucci the new White House communications director. As the New York Times reports:
Sean #, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday morning, telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.
Mr. Trump offered Mr. Scaramucci the job at 10 a.m. The president requested that Mr. # stay on, but Mr. # told Mr. Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake, according to person with direct knowledge of the exchange.
Hardest hit by this news will be Melissa McCarthy, who's been portraying # on Saturday Night Live and will now be forced to find other work
In case you don't believe that because it was reported by the NYT (a wise instinct) virtually every news outlet is relaying the same information. It's pretty clear that both Sean # and Reince Priebus are less than thrilled with the Scaramucci appointment.
