MSNBC gets woke: Mika says Bill Clinton was a 'predator' who harassed Lewinsky

Years ago, I did a radio interview in which a member of the Detroit Free Press editorial board argued that people like Robert Byrd and Bill Clinton had basically earned the free passes they'd been given by the left. It seems that - after their horrible transgressions - they'd "voted to support" the issues liberals supported, and that was more important than who they may have raped, assaulted, or the years they spent recruiting for the Ku Klux Klan. To this day, I view that interview as the most succinct summation of the Democrat mentality that I've ever witnessed. It was a variation of the "it was just sex," "personal lives don't matter," and "it was a long time ago" arguments that became the left's go-to in the 90's. It was also an admission that progressive platitudes are just that. If politicians vote in support of the oh-so-serious causes in which liberals believe, pretty much anything goes.

Up until Hillary Clinton lost, they were happy to stick to those talking points. Now, it seems things are changing. The Clintons are out of power, they're old, and plans to make Chelsea into "the next big thing" have completely fizzled. So, there's no longer any reason for the left to support its political millstone. As a result, we're seeing a concerted effort to consign Bill and Hillary to history's scrap heap. How bad has it gotten? Even Mika Brzezinski is acknowledgeding that Bill is a sexual predator who harassed Monika Lewinsky. Keep in mind, the Lewinsky story is twenty years old. Progressives spent two decades pretending it didn't matter, cheering as Hillary attacking Bill's detractors, and arguing that conservatives were reactionary prudes obsessed with politicians' sex lives. It's also important to remember that the Lewinsky scandal may have been the least of the accusations levelled at Bill and Hillary Someone should ask Mika what happened between 2016 and 2017 that changed "personal sex life" into "predatory harassment." ...Because the details of the story have been etched in stone for decades. Why did it take so long for her - and others - to come around?
