God save the Queen; we mean it, man

Never mind the bollocks, here's The Donald

--BombThrowers: Is Sid Vicious spinning in his grave? The former lead singer of the Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotten (née Lydon) supports Donald Trump and Brexit. During an interview on “Good Morning Britain” last Monday, Rotten, who is now an American citizen, asked, “Is [Trump] the political Sex Pistol?” He hailed Trump because he “terrifies politicians and this is joy to behold to me.”
He also said the media has been “trying to smear the bloke as a racist, and that’s completely not true.” “America now has a new president and whether you like him or not you have to support him or you will destroy the country," Rotten said afterwards. "You got to make things work.” Some criticisms of Trump are “stupid and wrong,” he added. “He’s got some serious money issues and business concerns that deeply fascinate all of us but to be smearing him as a racist, this isn’t right, there’s no evidence or proof to that and until there is, I’ll stand up and say that I think that’s wrong,” he said. Rotten said he himself has been unfairly tarred as a racist, too. “In my past I’ve had that accusation thrown at me willy nilly and it’s a damn hard one to have to listen to and endure – make sure it’s right,” he said.

Rotten has a pretty consistent history of being against oppression

“There’s a terrible attitude in left-wing politics – they just feel they have the pomposity and right to just throw these accusations out without any evidence – well don’t because my world requires facts.” On Britain’s approaching exit from the European Union, he said, “The working class has spoken. I’m one of them and I’m with them.” Given that Rotten and the Sex Pistols made their reputation fighting the social conservatism of the 1970s, his comments may surprise some. However, Rotten has a pretty consistent history of being against oppression, not necessarily conservatism. Presently the greatest threats to liberty come from the political Left through the institutions it controls such as the European Union. The Obama era was one encroachment on freedom after another, so it is little wonder that Rotten supports Obama’s antithesis. When the Sex Pistols released their 1977 single, “God Save The Queen,” it was Her Majesty’s Government, in the guise of the British Broadcasting Corporation, that censored it. The censorship did little to slow its meteoric rise up the charts as it hit the number two spot. According to some, it would have been number one but for the official interference.

Unfortunately, censorship can be effective and have devastating consequences

Unfortunately, censorship can be effective and have devastating consequences, as the below clip, an interview with Rotten by Piers Morgan, suggests. Perhaps if the BBC hadn’t censored voices like Rotten’s about the prolific sexual predations of the late British media figure Jimmy Savile, hundreds of British children wouldn’t have suffered so horrendously.
