Why is it Republicans are always expected to reach out, while Democrats are applauded for standing their ground?

"Right-minded Republicans." So, Obama assumes he can insult Republicans and get us all to hold his hand as one…? The Democrats’ mission, he said, is "not for larger government, but is for a responsive, and efficient and honest government that is listening to the voices of the American people." Knowing Democrats as we do, should we buy this? Why not. Millions are buying all the other bull he's pumping out….
