There was only one reason for the House and Senate to pass a 2-year budget deal. It was to remove an obstacle from the path of those seeking reelection. That's it. They are banking on the short memories of Americans and that newer crises will grab their attention.
Did you know that in addition, there is an an "off budget" item of $100 billion to fight terrorism? Let's save $100 billion by closing our borders and not accepted unscreened Syrian refugees.
The rationale for these budget deals is that they are to fund "promises already made". So, here's an idea: quit making promises. Every taxpayer can look at the Federal Government and see so much waste, fraud, abuse and deals traded for votes that even a 3rd grader could figure out ways to save money, lots of it.
The whole problem is that our hard earned money is parlayed by our Representatives into votes that only benefit the politician. I'll vote for your bill if you'll vote for mine. Could we only vote for things that make sense? Could we get the lobbyists out of DC? Could we stop the added on provisions and vote each bill on its merits? None of these are radical suggestions.
Our government is run by tactics that would make the Gambinos blush.
