Woodward and Obama's 'kind of madness'

Sussing Sequestration originator will get you yelled at and threatened

From the Official White House Rules Not Being Followed Book: When President Barack Obama yells “BOO!”, all should quiver in their well-worn winter boots. When he insists “The Sky is Falling!” via media propaganda, all should run for cover. Even with the Obama-designed sequestration media hype spread as thickly as mayo on a Governor Chris Christie sandwich, only one out of four Americans believe the overworked sequestration will directly affect them. Is this why the world’s first Celebrity President and his bully boy minion Gene Sperling, who got to yell at celebrated journalist Bob Woodward for a half an hour before threatening him “you’ll regret this” are losing their cool these days?
All Bob Woodward of Watergate fame was doing was working on a story questioning Obama’s account of how sequestration came about on the premise that it was Obama’s brainchild in the first place. This was after Woodward posited in a MSNBC interview that Obama’s assertion of not being able to protect the country is a “kind of madness”. Seems that today’s journalists are not in Kansas anymore. In pre-Kansas days of yore, even reporters worth their salt couldn’t get a government official to spend a half an hour talking with them on the phone, let alone get yelled at for half an hour straight. Back then the reporter being yelled at would have slammed the telephone down in the government official’s ear and began looking elsewhere to uncover the facts.

While many in the kept-out-of-the-loop masses imagined the official who threatened Woodward was the full-of-herself Valerie Jarrett, who maintains open season on the Obama household, it was only the Politico-identified Gene Sperling. One of those holdovers from the Clinton era, Gene B. Sperling is an American lawyer and Democratic Party political figure, currently serving as Director of the National Economic Council under President Barack Obama. “During Bill Clinton’s first term as President, from 1993-19965, Sperling served as deputy director of the National Economic Council while the Council was directed by Robert Rubin, who was promoted to Treasury Secretary. Sperling became National Economic Adviser to Clinton and director of the National Economic Council from 1996 to 2000. “As director of the NEC, Sperling, who had played a key role in the 1993 Deficit Reduction Act, was a key negotiator of the 1997 bipartisan Balanced Budget Act. Sperling was also a principal negotiator with then-Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers of the Financial Modernization Act of 1999, also known as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Gramm-Leach-Bliley repealed large portions of the depression-era Glass-Steagall Act allowing banks, securities firms and insurance companies to merge. President Barack Obama believes that the repeal of Glass-Steagall helped cause the 2007 subprime mortgage financial crisis.” (Wikipedia). Also in 1999, together with United States Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky, Sperling successfully negotiated and concluded the China-World Trade Organization agreement in Beijing, paving the way for China to enter the WTO in 2001. There was no sign of his temper tantrums back then. Sperling is the author of the Pro-Growth Progressive, a book arguing that liberals should seek to harness market forces in pursuing progressive goals, and co-author of What Works in Girls’ Education? He was also a consultant for the television series The West Wing. Meanwhile, it must be admitted that Woodward did far better than his colleagues, some of whom after being shut out of the recent Obama-Wood golfing weekend, asked Obama whether or not he beat Woods out on the links as their first question. And fortunately it is not only the media learning that a Celebrity President can get away with almost anything, including trying to frighten the masses into thinking their imploding world has nothing to do with the mastermind of the said coming implosion. The only fact that matters in the ‘Woodward Threatened by White House Story’ is this: Woodward is not the first journalist to be threatened by the Obama White House, only the first to talk about it.
