Unemplyoyment vs. working

We coddle the lazy; tread all over the working class

I frankly, have no idea in the world why any middle class or poverty level folks are working. I really don't.

As working taxpayers they are penalized at every turn and do not get much help. They are working long hours for little money and in many cases are uninsured, don't get food stamps or Obama phones, they pay their own child care expenses, they scrape up their own housing costs and buy their own food and clothing. And they go without many things. The unemployed receive a check, they are covered by Medicaid; they get a food allotment and a cell phone. They don't need the responsibility of a working, insured, maintained and gassed up vehicle to get back and forth to work. It could be argued that life is easier for those who are not trying to support themselves. And yet, over and over, we tolerate further assaults on the workers. We often don't even give them respect. Ask any waitress, cleaning lady, grass cutter or pool cleaner if they feel appreciated and respected? Our values are all wrong. We coddle the lazy, idolize entertainer or sports figure, and tread all over our working class. No wonder things are such a mess. Stewart Andersen
