Carolyn Parrish was accorded a free ride for her anti-American tirades--until the Drudge Report checked in.

Drudge prominently displayed the infamous picture of Parrish’s expensively booted foot crushing a George W. Bush doll over the story of her upcoming Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) foot-stomping stunt.

Today the Liberal MP’s debut on CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes foot-stomping antics takes the backseat as a marginalized Parrish rendered her swan song from the abysmal ranks of the Canadian independent. Canada Prime Minister Paul Martin finally got around to firing his mean-mouthed backbencher yesterday–and that story is up on Drudge too.

The bum’s rush sidelining Parrish did not come as the result of calling Americans "bastards" , or branding George W. Bush, "warlike".

Instead, the backbencher was shown the door for telling Martin and Company through the mainline media that they could "go to hell".

Like most sore losers, mean-mouthed Parrish said she was thinking of quitting anyway.

In today’s swan song comments, Parrish was "relieved" she was no longer a member of the Liberal caucus, and tossed in for good measure that Martin had been so pleasant when chiding her, that they had ended their tete a tete with a bear hug.

A huggy Martin is dubious at best. To the outside world, the Canadian Prime Minister is presented as a high on tolerance, politically correct multiculturalist. Insiders say he’s got the temper of a tyrant.

In any case, Martin hanging on to power by sheer virtue of minority status can hardly be in a magnanimous mood. The FBI has documents alleging that former Liberal Public Works Minister Alfonso Gagliano is connected to the powerful New York-based Bonnano crime family. It doesn’t help that Gagliano, who is alleged to be the point man behind the ongoing Liberal multi-million dollar sponsorship scandal, was, until only last February, Canada’s ambassador to Denmark.

If that isn’t hot water enough for a Prime Minister hanging onto power by a thread, another scandal is brewing in the office of his Immigration Minister Judy Sgro, who granted a special temporary resident permit to a Romanian stripper and election volunteer.

But anyone expecting bootstomping Parrish to dry up and blow away is destined for disappointment.

The mainline media present her as a maverick and renegade MP, glossing over facts such as the one where she led a mission to Palestine last year.

As an independent, the MP who boasted she was a Palestinian activist long before ever becoming an MP will have time to spare for personal pursuits.

The darling of a Muslim constituency, letters of support already pouring into the Toronto Star are bound to boost her oversized ego.

Sympathetic to her plight, the Star even invoked the name of Parrish’s pet dog: "Her beloved dog is named Texas. The home state of Bush."

Meanwhile the prime minister never got around to putting Carolyn Parrish in her place for strident anti-American bashing.

    Drudge did it for him.
