S.O.S to Rev. Ian Paisley

by Judi McLeod

april 8, 2004

I never thought I’d ever find myself writing to the Rev. Ian R. K. Paisley, MP, MEP, overseas. But with this slightly irreverent column, I’m sending a message, no, make that an S.O.S.

Man of the cloth Paisley, who has written eloquently about the European Union’s "crystal palace" in Brussels, has captured my imagination.

a little background may be needed here for the throngs who happily ignore European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Javier Solana. Like most ivory towers, the crystal palace cost millions of pounds to build. average little people, who struggle to pay rent and not the hierarchy who sit there, paid for it. Make what you want of it, but the E.U.’s chosen symbol was the Woman Riding the Beast. The depiction of the same symbol was reproduced on the centenary stamp of the E.U. and in a huge painting in the Parliament’s new building in Brussels. as if that weren’t enough, it was repeated again in a huge sculpture outside the new E.U. Council of Ministers office in Brussels for good measure.

Enter the Rev. Ian Paisley, who writes: "a massive crystal palace tower--officially called the Tower Building--houses the Fifth Parliament of Europe.

"It is certainly a building of the space age. "The seats of its massive hemicycle are designed like the crew seats in the Star Trek space machines. There are 679 of them--but wait for it! While these seats are allocated to members, one seat remains unallocated and unoccupied. The number of that seat is 666."

The number 666 seems to be a favourite with the E.U. In 2000, with help from France, Solana created a military command structure in the E.U., purportedly to compete with the U.S. for global dominance and the Mediterranean by implementing Recommendation 666.

Funny how these global grumpy old men, Solana, the occult-loving Kofi annan, and Maurice Strong wield power over the unwashed masses by plain, unadulterated hocus pocus.

Notice how none of Kofi’s magic has done diddlysquat for the vulnerable countries the United Nations seems unable to protect. The mystic powers of Maurice Strong’s 200,000-acre "spiritual retreat" run by his wife in Crestone, Colorado have not protected Mo from a bevy of lawsuits.

That brings us to the urbane Solana, as proud a member of the Socialist Party, as he is a member of the Spanish chapter of the Club of Rome.

Heck, even Hussein, now rotting in captivity, is a life-long dabbler in the occult.

But it is the all too corporeal side of these characters, not their Wiccan talents that should be feared. The involvement of Kofi’s son Kojo in the ongoing oil-for-food scandal is the Real McCoy. Maurice Strong’s Kyoto and goat-skinned Earth Charter, transcend funky Crestone. Like the others, in countenance Solana looks like your average guy. He doesn’t sport horns and a tail, but it was Solana and Solana alone who had the power to make NaTO military and bombing decisions in Yugoslavia.

Back to the vacant seat in the Brussel’s Tower Building, I have this fresh-air commonsense proposal for the Rev. Mr. Paisley. With respect, go claim it by sitting your buns firmly on it. There are, afterall 678 such seats. It’s not, Reverend that I do not believe that there is a God and a busy Lucifer. I believe that they are there, just as good and evil do exist.

But the Kofi annans, Maurice Strongs, Javier Solanas et al depend on confusing the masses with nonstop hocus pocus.

It’s time to dispel their flimflammery, to shine a steady flashlight into the dark corners they have created.

and, there’s no better place to start than to take a load off in Seat # 666.

If you Rev. Paisley are unwilling to try it, and can find no takers among the 678 warm bodies putting in time at the crystal palace, send for me.
