The Pitfalls of amorality

by Klaus Rohrich

September 18, 2004

"Moral clarity" is a term that tends to frighten people, as it implies that there really is a right and a wrong. One of the worst traits that one can have today is to be "judgmental". To be judgmental is to deem an act or attitude to be "right" or "wrong" in absolute terms. George W. Bush is a shining example of someone who is judgmental when he says that terrorism is evil. To take such a strong position makes the leftist elite very uncomfortable because in their minds every point of view is valid and there is no right or wrong.

It's not a stretch to imagine where this type of thinking leads us. In her book The Death of Right and Wrong, author Tammy Bruce gives the reader a glimpse "through the glass darkly". Bruce, a former president of the California chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and an admitted lesbian, brings some serious bona fides to her argument with her well researched and impeccably written account of how the left is slowly destroying anything of a "moral" nature in our culture.

There is a moral vacuum in our society today, as we lionize murderers, glorify sexually deviant behaviour, denigrate the Christian faith and bathe all acts, good or bad, in the rosy light of relativism. a prime example of our moral decay is the previous President of the United States, Bill Clinton, who not only lied to 280 million americans when he wagged his finger at the camera and said "I'm going to say this one more time: I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski..." He then lied to a federal judge under oath and suborned the Miss Lewinski in question to perjury. While this is bad enough, what's worse is that most americans didn't care!

The family has all but disappeared in our culture as the radical Left denigrates traditional relationships and encourages women to procreate without being bogged down in a relationship with a man. apparently father figures are totally unnecessary to the Left, as dads can easily be replaced by the welfare state. By encouraging women to make this choice we are actually increasing the likelihood that they will forever live in abject poverty as wards of the state. But then, we also tend to glorify victimhood in that being a "victim" has an associated power. It is in the Left's best interest to have at its disposal a cadre of dedicated victims that they can control in furtherance of their sick agenda.

The question of same-sex marriage is nothing more than raising the stakes in the quest to kill of traditional families. Yes, it's all well and good to say that gay people should enjoy equal rights with heterosexuals. But, it's also a specious argument because gays already enjoy equal rights. In fact, I believe that gays and other minorities enjoy more and stronger rights, than the rest of the population. It is illegal under our hate laws to speak badly of homosexuals or ethnic groups. Yet it's perfectly legal to demonize men. Some years ago, the government of Ontario was running a series of commercials warning "deadbeat dads" that they would be incarcerated for failure to pay support. While I agree with the sentiment, I had a huge problem with the government singling out males as the evildoers.

Upon finalizing my divorce, I paid child and spousal support every two weeks as was mandated by the courts. I did so in spite of the fact that little of the mid-five figure annual support payments found their way to my children, for whom I often had to purchase food and clothing in addition to the support. When I finally sued for and was awarded custody of my children, it turned out their mother became a "deadbeat mom" by failing to pay her mandated support. I empirically know of numerous similar cases. Yet the Government of Ontario ran an ad campaign declaiming "deadbeat dads"

as our morality continues to degrade we are having a difficult time identifying good and evil. Consider that Reuters News agency refuses to use the word "terrorist" in its news reporting, despite the fact that the acts they are reporting are clearly and classically of a terrorist nature. Do civilized people really take hostages and then cut their heads off the way the Islamofascists are doing? Yet much of the mainstream media continues to refer to them as "militants" or "fighters". Talk about losing one's moral compass.

already there is a movement afoot to legitimize pedophilia. The North american Man-boy Love Society is lobbying to have pederasty considered as just another lifestyle choice. There are numerous perfectly acceptable euphemisms for child molestation that are blandly value-neutral. These include "intergenerational sexual encounters", "consensual sex with children" and my personal favourite "sex with adolescent women".

Children are also being encouraged to explore the darker sexual proclivities, such as sado-masochism. On the web site Teenwire.com, an "educational" site for teens sponsored by Planned Parenthood, there is advice about which circumstances make sexual sado-masochism okay.

The offshoot of this so-called new morality is a plethora of misery. The statistics are staggering, if not well hidden. Close to 25 percent of all sexually active teenagers are infected with a sexually transmitted disease. 20 percent of children over the age of 12 are testing positive for genital herpes. as well, diseases such as syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and trichomoniasis are on the increase among our young.

The lack of moral clarity serves to break previously impenetrable barriers. While the Left might consider this a good thing, sane, rational and moral people do not. Take, for example, the idea of bestiality. Making it with your dog, Fido is yet one more "lifestyle choice" we are given to believe, by those bent on totally destroying our society. Midas Dekkers wrote a book entitled Dearest Pet: On Bestiality, which received rave reviews on an e-zine devoted to "different" sexual choices. The contents of the review are too sordid to detail here.

So it appears that the Left has a clear picture of how things should be. There is no right and wrong and everything is relative. anyone who does not view life in this way is a right-wing extremist, a bigot or a moron. By these standards I am happy to be all three.
