Paul Martin: "unbelievable"

This is how the prime minister described the siege of the school in Beslan, Russia, that saw Chechen and arab terrorists indiscriminately kill babies and children last week.

What happened close to the Chechen border may be "unbelievable" in Paul Martin’s world, but to those of us who live in the real world, it was anything but.

The killings were acts of brutality committed by Islamic savages. The mass killings came more than two days after hundreds of hostages were held in sweltering conditions with little or nothing to drink and nothing to eat. The terrorists took great pleasure in watching their hostages, mainly children, suffer. While Martin correctly characterized the hostage taking as "barbaric acts of terrorism" only the most naïve amongst us would refer to brutality at the hands of Islamic fundamentalists as "unbelievable".

a comparison can be made between the events of last week and the horrific murder of a child such as Toronto’s Holly Jones. Ten-year-old Holly was walking the short distance between the home of a girlfriend and her own early one spring evening. She was grabbed by an areas resident who dragged her to his apartment, sexually assaulted and killed her. He then cut up her body and stuffed them in various bags that began to wash up on the shores of Lake Ontario the next day.

Shocking — yes. Horrific — yes. Barbaric — yes. Unbelievable — no. The reality is that there are people out there such as Holly’s killer who get a perverse pleasure in attacking and killing children. We all recognize this fact but some people like Canada’s prime minister refuse to recognize the extent and brutality of terrorism.

Paul Martin does not comprehend the fact that these terrorists are on a mission. They will not stop until either they are stopped or the entire world becomes the Islamic state that they so desire. They have no hesitation in killing infidels and it doesn’t matter if some of these infidels are still in diapers. Martin and his minions are completely oblivious to the realities of terrorism and think that if only we can sit down and listen to them; get to understand them and take care of their grievances, they will cease their terrorist activities. The reality of what took place in Russia is that if the terrorists’ only purpose was to obtain independence for Chechnya, it would have been absolutely unnecessary to massacre babies and children.

Unfortunately, Paul Martin is not alone in his world. He is surrounded by terrorist-sympathizing government backbenchers and a cabinet of girly-men (thank you, arnold) who act as useful idiots to the terrorists of the world. Let’s take a look at some of Paul’s nearest and dearest.

First there is MP Colleen "Baghdad" Beaumier, who in January 2003 visited Iraq, became enthralled with Deputy Prime Minister Tariq aziz, and mourned at the imminent death of the thousands of children (the vast majority of whom are still very much alive) that the United States were about to slaughter. Beaumier found Iraq under Saddam to be a progressive state. The Ontario MP had little concern with the killing and torture that was carried out by Saddam and his regime.

Then we have Beaumier’s sidekick, Carolyn Parrish. Eighteen months after calling americans "bastards" she referred to them as a "coalition of the idiots". Martin said that was "unacceptable" but refused to discipline her. Martin sees nothing wrong with these two backbencherettes making the United States the enemy in the fight against terrorism.

Then we have London area MP Pat O’Brien who referred to Israel’s security barrier last March as placing Palestinians in concentration camps. If he had any concerns about Palestinians entering Israel and blowing up babies in pizza restaurants, he failed to mention them.

and then we have Defense Minister Bill Graham. as Minister of Foreign affairs, Graham was quick to criticize Israel for Jenin, the greatest massacre that never was and, with his nose up in the air he consistently lectured Canadians about the wonderful charitable works that are carried on by Hezbollah. The social wing of course, not the military wing. Perhaps the baby killers in Beslan were also socially active.

No doubt the fact that people like Martin’s cronies are quick to blame Israel and the United States while singing the praises of the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein and portraying groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah as victims or progressive entities that do good work, encourages events such as those that transpired last week in Russia.

In his "unbelievable" press release, Paul Martin also said that he wanted to express "Canada’s steadfast solidarity and continuing cooperation in the global struggle against terrorism." That should make the now childless Russians feel a whole lot better. Talk, much like many of Martin’s caucus members, is cheap. Canada has done nothing lately to aid the fight against terrorism, other than to reduce the number of troops in afghanistan to a token number. Martin’s idea of increasing the military is to add 5,000 new peacekeepers to the armed forces to be deployed whenever the United Nations snaps its fingers.

Canada being serious in the "global struggle against terrorism". Now that is unbelievable.
