Landowner's Bulldoze wetland designations

by Randy Hillier, President, Lanark Landowners’ association
Saturday, august 20, 2005

The City of Ottawa has recently designated 650 acres of private land as protected wetlands. The City does not intend to compensate the private landowners for the loss of use or enjoyment, or the loss of monetary value resulting from this act. This designation amounts to theft of private land for the publics benefit.

The criteria for a wetland are the types and amount of vegetation that grows and not whether there is water on the land.

To protect ourselves from this legalized theft the landowners have begun clearing all vegetation from these parcels of land. Using bulldozers and high-hoes the land is scraped clean of all vegetation.

The first of these clearings can be viewed at Doug & Sandra Healy’s farm at 7072 Flewellyn road. On Monday august 22 at 6:30 p.m. the Lanark, Carleton & Goulbourn Landowners will unveil this message to the bureaucrats and politicians who seek to steal our property through contrived and deceptive environmental regulations.

You are invited to attend the erection of the signs and witness the removal of a wetland designation. as landowners fight back and tell governments

This Land is our LaND-BaCK OFF GOVERNMENT.
