In response to the growing abuse from the Lanark, Leeds & Grenville Health Unit regarding farmers markets, the united landowners and farmers markets have scheduled a Thanksgiving Farmers Rally. after a year of intimidating letters, intrusive and heavy handed inspections, stupid edicts and excessive fines deemed educational. The farmers markets have harvested a cornucopia of bureaucratic incompetence and injustice. This horn of plenty is full, and will be emptied with the determination and resolve of the community.
On Thursday October 6, 2005, Landowners associations from Stormont, Dundas, Leeds, Grenville and Lanark in conjunction with Farmers markets from Carleton Place, Perth, Brockville, Gananoque, and Prescott will hold a free and open marketplace in the Lanark Leeds and Grenville Health Units parking lot, on Laurier street in Brockville. The market will be open from 8:00 am noon.
The market will serve up farm fresh eggs, and a host of inappropriate foods such as apple cider, meat, ungraded vegetables. In addition appropriate food items such as Jos. Louis, bubble gum, and Pepsi will be auctioned off to the highest bidders for delivery to Dr. Charles Gardner and Leona Dombrowsky.
