"Everything we do is based at adults." So said People for the Ethical Treatment of animals (PETa) president Ingrid Newkirk on CNN in 2002. If that's the case, we're left asking: How does Newkirk explain "Freda Fish's" recent trip to a Montgomery, alabama school?
PETa activist Karin Robertson (who apparently changed her name back from "goveg.com," once the publicity wore off) told a local paper that she contacted every Montgomery-area school about visiting. after they all declined, Robertson, with her fishy friend Freda in tow, took to the sidewalk in front of Bellingrath Junior High to catch students as they left school last week. Clad in full fish regalia, professional PETa activists passed out "Fish Flakes" cards -- which depict kids getting sick from eating fish -- to children as young as two years old.
PETa's anti-fish campaign was also the subject of a recent FOX News report, where we took on Bruce Friedrich, PETa's vegan campaign coordinator. Friedrich defended the campaign, which included a violent comic book-style anti-fishing pamphlet titled "Your Daddy Kill animals."
