The Destruction of Cindy Sheehan

by J.B. Williams
Wednesday, august 17, 2005

as if anyone in the world doesn’t already know who Cindy Sheehan is, following a massive media frenzy surrounding her small very personal vigil outside President Bush’s Texas ranch, she is a mom still mourning the loss of her son, and she is now demanding a second meeting with the President, this time to apprise him of her opinions concerning national security decisions.

Her son Casey Sheehan died in the Iraq war effort on april 4, 2004 in Sadr City outside of Baghdad. On June 18, 2004, President Bush met with Cindy Sheehan and her husband, along with the parents of other fallen american soldiers, in which pictures were taken of Mrs. Sheehan embracing President Bush, who gently kissed her on the cheek, as he has done with countless mothers of fallen soldiers before and since.

By March 15, 2005, Mrs. Sheehan’s mood had dramatically changed, writing in a letter to aBC’s Nightline,   "am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNaC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the army to protect america not Israel. am I stupid? No, I know full well that my son, my family, this nation and this world were betrayed by George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNaC agenda after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedom and democracy... not for the real reason, because the arab Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy."

What changed between June of 2004 and March of 2005? There was no mention of "neocons" or "Israel" or "lies" or "betrayal" in her first meeting with the President. What was different in March of 2005 and what caused the dramatic change in Mrs. Sheehan’s political perspective? I have no doubts that her grief over the loss of her son is very real. I also have little doubt that unable to let go of that grief, her mind and heart have become filled with all sorts of doubts and even hatred for the events that cost her sons life. But why the big swing in her political views? What happened between June 2004 and March 2005?

The answer - a very bitter election process. It was an election process like no other before it, in which opponents of President Bush propagandized the war effort as part of their campaign to unseat Bush. They lost the election as a direct result of being exposed as liars openly engaged in an effort to discredit Bush, our military and the war against international terrorism. But their hate-filled rhetoric won a few converts along the way, Mrs. Sheehan among them.

George Soros propaganda machines like MoveOn.org and the now defunct america Coming Together spent millions getting their slogan "Bush Lied and People Died" in every headline across this nation, with a little help from the now defunct Dan Rather and a few others. Unsuspecting victims of anti-Bush propaganda like Mrs. Sheehan bought it hook, line and sinker.

That’s what happened between Mrs. Sheehan’s first meeting with President Bush and March of 2005, when she began her anti-Semite rant against the war in Iraq. What happened between March of 2005 and now, is the grief stricken mother has simmered in hate-filled anti-war rhetoric for another five months, becoming consumed by sorrow and anger over the loss of her son in a war she now believes to be an immoral lie.

Meanwhile, MoveOn.org has fired up the propaganda machinery once again, seizing a rare opportunity to exploit this grieving mother as their new anti-Bush poster-child, organizing a nationwide vigil slated for august 17, 2005.

Is there any truth to the claim that "Bush Lied and People Died"? None what-so-ever… I have spent countless hours, days, months searching for any evidence at all that would indicate that Bush in any way lied to the american people in the justification for military action in Iraq. I have read every assertion made by his detractors and followed every claim to its point of origin for more than two years now. Not a single word of these claims is true. But that won’t stop people from regurgitating them. as long as organizations politically opposed to Bush (or any conservative) will repeat the lie, someone will believe it.

So here we have a mother who lost a son in the Iraq war effort, who met with and embraced the President two months after the loss of her son, who is now demanding a second meeting with the President in order to make him aware of his personal role in her sons death, based entirely on completely erroneous information, spoon fed to her by socialist liberal propagandist who now exploit her pain for purposes of their political gain. It’s just that simple and just that insidious.

as if that were not enough, then the liberal media pounced on the opportunity to stick a few of their own words in her mouth while she held the national spotlight, and now her high school sweetheart husband has filed for divorce. She has not only lost her son, but now her husband and family, who she claimed a week ago, supported her political agenda. Clearly not…

as of last night, Mrs. Sheehan appeared on CNN with anderson Cooper to denounce many of the anti-Bush words placed in her mouth by others and deny any prior anti-Semitic statements on her part, only to be confronted with the text of her letter of March 15, 2005 to Nightline, which included guess what, her anti-Semitic statements.

To be fair, at this point, she has been tugged and pulled by so many outside ideologues, exploited by so many around her who seek political advantage from her very real tragedy, that she probably no longer remembers what she was originally mourning.

anti-american hate groups around the globe are on board now, adding whatever fuel they can to a blaze already raging out of control. Even some of my fellow conservative writers seem to have forgotten that Mrs. Sheehan is just a mother who lost her son, only to be victimized once again by hate groups like MoveOn.org and anti-Bush media elites across the country and around the world.

The woman is on the verge of losing everything she ever cared about at this point. and in a few days, Bush will be back in Washington, the Crawford vigil will be over, Mrs. Sheehan will return to California and her empty home, and all her knew found fame and friends will be gone, moving on to the next anti-Bush rally opportunity.
