People for the Ethical Treatment of animals, satanic speed metal music

PETa going satanic speed metal?

Reminders of People for the Ethical Treatment of animals (PETa) are part of the latter day landscape. PETa crops up on billboards along the freeway, with placards in front of fast-food chicken outlets and in schoolyards, where their activists warn youngsters of the dangers of milk.

Now PETa seems to have a place in the dark world of heavy metal. Whether that place is by design or mistake, PETa has a link on a purely evil, black metal rock website.

Seeing is believing: (www.candlelightrecordsusa.com). and (www.candlelightrecords.co.uk/candleweb/redesign/candle_links.htm).

It appears that the fast-growing vegan "culture" has some significant links to some of the more evil-loving elements of latter day rock music.

Rockers are not only linking up to PETa on the Internet, some are going all out to participate in PETa activities Former Warlock front woman, Doro swore allegiance to the animal rights movement last February.

Up until now, Doro has kept her social conscience pretty much to herself.

"But on February 23, 2006 it won't be that easy anymore not to talk about her social work. From that day on her fans should keep an eye on the posters and wallpapers around their hometown as Doro can be seen on them then. She is taking part in a PETa campaign and therefore posters showing our Metal Queen will be presented worldwide!!" (Rock News, 06/03/2006).

"PETa protects animals rights and they are especially against wearing fur! Now Doro, who loves animals very much and has supported similar projects for years, helps them, too."

Passionate about PETa is Lamb of God. Lamb of God bassist, John Campbell, and drummer, Chris adler, did an interview with PETa, which can be viewed at the following link: http://www.peta2.com? OUTTHERE/o-lambofgod.asp? c≠1098.

There's no news whether PETa intends to respond in kind by taking part in the "National Day of Slayer".

It's going down on 6.6.06.

"6.6.06 isn't a date that comes around very often (once per century, to be exact), and while plenty of stupid horror movies and terrible albums will be released for the hype value of the day that bears "the number of the beast", we here at NDoS decided that this would be a perfect day for Hessians across the country to come together and engage in something upon which we can all agree--listening to Slayer! also, do you really want those evangelical Neo-Cons to have all the fun with their "National Day of Prayer"? says National Day of Slayer, LLC, a non-profit corporation in the State of Wyoming.

Slayer is a band from California. Their music has come to epitomize satanic speed metal music in the latter half of the 20th century. Their 1986 album, "Reign in Blood" is one of the single most influential metal albums of all time, typified by the modern classic, "angel of Death".

Slayer prefers fans to "listen to Slayer at full blast in your car; to listen to Slayer at full blast in your home; full blast, too, at your place of employment and full blast in any public place you prefer."

Using headphones while listening to Slayer is frowned upon. "The objective of this day is for everyone within earshot to understand that it is the National Day of Slayer. National holidays in america aren't just about celebrating; they're about forcing it upon non-participants."

Some tips for fans to take that participation to a problematic level include:

  • Stage a "Stay-out". Don't go to work. Listen to Slayer.

  • Have a huge block party that clogs up a street in your neighbourhood. Blast Slayer albums all evening. Get police cruisers and helicopters on the scene. Finish with a full-scale riot.

  • Spray paint Slayer logos on churches, synagogues, or cemeteries.

  • Play Slayer covers with your own band (since 99% of your riffs are stolen from Slayer anyway.

and surely the last Slayer tip could never be approved by PETa:"Kill the neighbor's dog and blame it on Slayer."

The inclusion of PETa in the heavy metal world must be a spoof or a hoax. and if it is, PETa has a new frontier. Starting now.
