boycotting Israel, decertify CUPE

CUPE sides with terrorism

It seems the only thing CUPE Ontario has going for it is timing, bad timing. But then, no one ever seriously accused the union that represents Canada's government employees of being in tune with the times, given that they tend to look back longingly to those rosy days when Stalin governed the Soviet workers' paradise and Hitler knew how to deal with the Jews.

The announcement that CUPE Ontario recently voted "unanimously" in favor of boycotting Israel for having the temerity to defend itself is just another example of unfortunate timing, given the arrest in Toronto of 17 suspected Islamic terrorists that followed barely a week after. While this union represents over 200,000 public workers, it's curious that they were able to get a "unanimous" vote on their bizarre resolution. Does this mean there are no Jews in CUPE or do those Jews who do belong to CUPE support the resolution out of self-loathing?

The results of this vote are reminiscent of the election results one tends to find in third-world countries such as Cuba or Saddam Hussein's Iraq where Saddam managed to get 99.9% of the popular vote the last time he ran for office.

For some reason CUPE Ontario finds it objectionable that Israel would insist that suicide bombers not enter the country and to this end erected a security barrier. I believe the word "apartheid" was used by CUPE Ontario to describe the erection of the barrier between Israel and Palestinian terrorism. Using the word "apartheid" to describe Israel's desire for self-preservation either betrays a pathological lack of understanding of racism or a disingenuous attempt at deceiving people the CUPE drones perceive to be mental inferiors.

There is a definite agenda at work here. It's the embodiment of anti-western, anti-Semitic and pro-totalitarianist thought. What would CUPE Ontario expect of Israel to gain that union's favor? Should Israel allow free passage to all suicide bombers wishing to detonate themselves in Israeli restaurants or buses? Should it give up all of the land that has comprised the state of Israel since 1948? Should all Israelis commit suicide? Ridiculous as these suggestions are, there is a sense in CUPE's position that would embrace such actions.

For some reason the luminaries at CUPE Ontario do not find it problematic that Hamas refuses to recognize Israel's right to exist. Nor do they find it unusual that when Israel offered the late arch-terrorist, Yassar arafat 95% of everything he demanded at the Dayton accords, arafat flatly refused it. But then, the word "negotiation" is arabic for stalling until you can annihilate your enemy.

In my opinion CUPE now needs to be decertified. There is no reason for a union that ostensibly represents the interests of Ontario or Canadian workers to get involved in the looming armageddon now developing in the Middle East. If anything, it would be in the best interest of Canadian workers for CUPE to stay out of world politics altogether, given that they do not seem to object to China, who runs one of the most worker-repressive regimes on the planet, sucking jobs out of Canada. The best thing CUPE could do right now is to slowly fade away into nothingness, taking the rabid anti-Semites with them. Then, maybe, Canadian government workers can get an even break.
