Party, Protest rally, civics,

Open Letter to americas Youth:
Re: Immigration

Listen kids, I know how hard it is to pass up a good party, oop's I mean protest rally, especially when your school offers class credit just for showing up. With this nice spring weather we're having today and a chance to show mom and dad just how well spent their money is on your higher education, who could resist?

But I feel the need to point out a couple important facts you seem to have missed in your civics and government classes.

america is a "sovereign" nation, "self-governed" by "laws" designed and adopted to promote, preserve and defend our entire way of life. In this regard, you must recognize the difference between "legal" immigrants and "illegal" immigrants.

Simplistically (elementary actually), "legal" immigrants are those we have invited to enter our home and become a part of our extended american family - those who respected our sovereign nation and our laws, and desired an american life enough to abide by those laws.

"Illegal" immigrants are those who have come uninvited, without regard for our laws or our sovereignty, our security or our american heritage and culture.

So that you won't continue to mistake these groups as one in the same, I'll put it in terms even a 3rd grader can comprehend.

as a recent reader of mine so aptly put it, "If I break into your home uninvited, how long must I hide in your home before being awarded all the benefits of being a family member?"

as another put it so well, "imagine waking one morning to unexpectedly find a strange husband and wife and their three children sitting in your living room, watching your TV, reading your paper and eating your Cheerio's from your dishes. Upon asking how they got there and what they are doing there, you are informed that you need to add them to your health insurance, provide them with a roof and meals while helping them seek employment and seeing to it that their children are properly enrolled in your children's school."

This is what we are confronting as we attempt to wrestle with the fact that our federal government has horribly failed to enforce any of our immigration laws over the past 50 years and now we find our home filled with between 11 and 25 million uninvited house guests demanding these very things of us.

So try to think about this as you march in our streets in protest of law and order, legal immigration and national sovereignty and security. Try to keep this in mind as you enjoy the weather and attempt to prove how civic minded you are by marching against america's right to self-determination.

actually, I should have addressed this letter to Congress…
