Kerry – a One Man Quagmire:
Let the Spin Begin!

By J.B. Williams

Thursday, November 2, 2006

In yet another botched stand-up routine, intended to pander to a group of Pasadena College aged liberals, the Democrat Senator pronounced "You know, education - if you make the most of it - you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." Silver spoon Senator – YES… Silver tongued? Hardly!

Within minutes, the american Legion and veterans groups all over the country were demanding an immediate apology for Kerry's implied disrespect for every individual to ever wear a US military uniform, an apology Kerry would fast refuse to give.

Of course, moments later, Kerry stepped to another microphone to blame his outrageous gaffe on yet another right-wing conspiracy, claiming that his poorly timed hoof-in-mouth Freudian slip was aimed at the current Commander-in-Chief, not the thousands of volunteer service members currently serving in Iraq.

This is the standard position of today's Democrats. When they state that we are failing in Iraq, in a "quagmire”, unable to win, poorly equipped, poorly trained, poorly led and poorly planned in Iraq, they are NOT referring to those who make such plans or carry them out. They are referring only to the Commander-in-Chief, whom they desperately hope to defeat in the November 7th mid-term election, even though his name appears on no ballot… This is the current nuance of the Democratic position…

Yes, we said that Hussein had WMD. Yes, we said that he must be removed from power for years. Yes, we voted to authorize military force to remove him from power and yes, we have voted against numerous military spending bills since. Yes, we have no better plan for victory in Iraq or anywhere else and yes, we believe that Iraq is a military failure which could only exist at the hands of every member of the military, especially military war planners responsible for the quagmire in Iraq.

BUT… We support our troops! Not with money, not with moral support, not with protecting national security secrets that we are happy to leak for political gain, not by offering helpful suggestions as to how we can win in Iraq, but by claiming defeat and promising to bring our soldiers home just as we did in Vietnam, a failure never allowed to succeed…

Yes, we love the troops! We think they are stupid little children exploited by the evil Bush administration, but we love them. We think they are clueless as to how to win in Iraq or anywhere else, that they are weak and demoralized, unable to win. But we support our troops.

Yes, we think they are terrorists raping, plundering, torturing abusive thugs running roughshod over innocent Iraqi women and children in the dead of night, but we love and support our troops!

This is what Democrats have been saying publicly for years now… But this little gaffe was not what Kerry meant to say and he's not taking it anymore from the right-wing conspirators who insist upon handing him a megaphone every time he steps in another mountain of crap!

The troops they love and support, you know, those "uneducated stupid kids” being exploited by the evil Bush regime in Iraq. Those running Soviet styled "Gulags”, raping and murdering innocent Iraqi children and torturing innocent terrorists around the world. Those troops!

The fact is - this was a classic Freudian slip. One of those when seconds later you say to yourself; "Did I just say that out loud?”

Similar to the Freudian slip Hillary made while departing Marine One upon her first arrival on the White House lawn, when she looked at a Marine standing at attention as she departed the chopper and said, "make yourself useful and grab my bags”. Or when she poured a welcoming cup of tea on the ground in Culpeper Virginia, telling Secret Service agents in attendance, "I only drink tea from a cup and saucer”, or when she shouted out "we are the President!” Like when husband Bill Clinton actually wrote in a letter to his would-be Commanding Officer, "I loathe the military”.

These kinds of gaffes aren't really gaffes, other than they had hoped to sneak them by the eyes and ears of average american voters, who would likely slap their faces in response, at a minimum. They are classic Freudian slips… where their innermost thoughts slip off the tip of their tongues before they can shut themselves up. It happens all the time to folks overly-impressed with themselves.

By morning - Kerry announced that he was canceling all future planned campaign stops. Fellow anti-military Democrats were rushing to the closest microphone to denounce his statement. Not because they disagree with the statement, but because they smell their own blood in the water days before the election… I'm beginning to wonder if Kerry isn't actually a covert Rove agent?

The spin machine was winding up and damage control was again underway. The liberal media minions are out in force, trying desperately to convince voters that Kerry meant something quite different from what he said. But then, what he said was no different than countless other attacks he has leveled at the military over the years. In fact, it was actually kinder and gentler than most of his previous attacks on the military.

For anyone to believe that John Kerry didn't mean exactly what he said, or that all current Democrat leaders don't mean exactly the same thing, one would have to ignore every other related statement they have been making for years now.

Now Kerry's latest statement is truly insulting, not only to every member of the military, but to every american who truly does support our heroes in uniform. However, even this statement is not as insulting as the subsequent effort to spin the statement into another right-wing conspiracy. It is yet another demonstration of just how stupid today's limousine liberals believe average americans to be.

Unfortunately, believe it or not, they are somewhat right. Even after this latest display of complete contempt for those who serve in our armed forces, almost half of the country will step into a voting booth next week and mark their ballot for one of these idiots. That's because they are just as out of touch and ignorant as those they gleam their information from, the leftist running the DNC and the press who supports them.

a recent study by the Center for Media and Public affairs demonstrates just how biased today's press really is, delivering headline support for today's secular socialist agenda with 77% pro-democrat and 88% anti-republican stories. Investors.com has a good column on the subject.

The leftist press is who informs and drives american Democrats today. anything they report, no matter how many Dan Rather – Mary Mapes are exposed, becomes the gospel of the left and not one of them will ever even attempt to quantify the story as long as it suits their agenda.

That's offensive! and the entire press machine will be working around the clock between now and November 7th to spin Kerry's latest display of contempt into another right-wing conspiracy, painting John Kerry himself the ultimate victim.

Could anything be more offensive than that? Why yes there can be…

Electing them back into power would certainly be the ultimate insult!
